Talk Topics Week 4 th 18 February, 2013 Week 5 h 25 February, 2013 Task Description Topic Choice : Students are to select a topic from the topic list blow. They may bring in a prop for inspiration, such as : an item of clothing, an object, a photograph etc. (No toys, please) Our Stories : Book Review : Students are to review one of their favourite story books and present a book review to the class. They may wish to provide a recount, summarise the story, rate it out of ten etc.

This story may be a recount of a famous text or simply th 11 March, 2013 an interesting and unique family or cultural tale. Students are encouraged to bring in props in order to add excitement and interest to their engaging tale. Week 8 Topic Choice : Students are to select a topic from the topic list blow. They may bring in a prop for inspiration, such as : an item of clothing, an object, a th 25 March, 2013 photograph etc. (No toys, please) Week 10 Musical instrument Presentation th 4 April, 2013 Your child has been given a day of the week for their presentations. To prepare for their talk, students should plan their speech at home, practise their speech and possibly prepare something visual for the audience to look at e.g. a photo, a drawing etc. Students will be formally assessed in week 10 on their talks structure, their use of language and their speech (volume, clarity, etc). Term 1 Project : Incredible Instruments As part of our Science Unit, Sound Sensations, students will be required to create their very own and unique musical instrument from household recycled goods and present it to the class. Students will display how the instrument works during their presentation, as well as providing information on its construction, material selection and design inspiration.
