Read nightly! Fill in the Reading Log with the main idea of the story read. Please sign the Reading Log nightly to show that your child is reading. Remind your child to stay focused on reading books for Accelerated Reader! Read each night and fill in the Reading Log, remember it must be signed by a parent/guardian. Your child should be reading at least (minimum) 20 minutes each day. More than that is good too! Writing: PASS Prep This week as we finish writing our directions, we will work on skills previously taught to practice for the upcoming PASS Writing Test. There will be minor assessments taken up throughout the week over these skills. The assessments are similar to the writing homework.

Math: Geometry
This week we will finish up our unit on geometry. We will learn the attributes of circles and learn to name lines, segments, and angles. The geometry test will be Tuesday, February 26th.

Social Studies: New Government Now that we have successfully defended our right to govern ourselves, our new country has to actually decide how to do that. We will learn about the Constitutional Convention and the writing of the Constitution, as well as the three branches and levels of government. Our test will be next week on Tuesday, February 26.

Notes from the Teacher


*Please study multiplication facts every night. It is essential that your child memorize these facts by the end of the year. * Please return the permission form and money for the Columbia field trip by Friday. Thank you for helping us by returning these in a timely manner as we make final preparations for our trip.
