The status of the eNodeB is normal. The status can be checked by choosing Workbench > Main Topology on the M2000. The cell is activated, and its status is normal. UE1 is ready and is located in the center of its serving cell. Uu interface tracing (by choosing Monitor > Signaling Trace > Signaling Trace Management > Uu Interface Trace ) and S1 interface tracing (by choosing Monitor > Signaling Trace > Signaling Trace Management > S1 Interface Trace ) tasks have been created on the M2000. Expected Result The S1AP_INITIAL_CONTEXT_SETUP_RSP and S1AP_UL_NAS_TRANS messages appear in the S1 tracing result, indicating that the attach procedure is successful. The returned results show the detailed information about CELL1. The parameter

The UE sends an RRC Connection Request message (random value or S-TMSI) to the eNodeB. The eNodeB sends an RRC Connection Setup message (RadioResourceConfigDedicated) to the UE. The UE sends the eNodeB an RRC Connection Complete message, indicating that the UE is in RRC_CONNECTED mode. The message also includes an Attach Request message. The eNodeB sends the MME an Initial UE Message (including the Attach Request message) to set up an S1 link with the MME. The MME sends an Initial Context Setup Request (including the IEs MME UE S1AP ID, eNB UE S1AP ID, UE Aggregate Maximum Bit Rate, E-RAB to Be Setup List, UE Security Capabilities, and Security Key) to request a UE context setup. The eNodeB sends a Security Mode Command message to the UE and the UE responds with a Security Mode Complete message, activating access stratum (AS) security. The eNodeB sends an UE Capability Enquiry message only after receiving an Initial

Context Setup Request message without the IE UE Radio Capability. (8) (9) After receiving an UE Capability Information message over the Uu interface, the eNodeB sends the MME an UE Capability Info Indication message. The eNodeB sends the UE an RRC Connection Reconfiguration message containing the NAS message Attach Accept to set up SRB2 and a DRB.
(10) After receiving an RRC Connection Reconfiguration Complete message from the UE, the eNodeB sends the MME an Initial Context Setup Response message, indicating that the UE context setup is complete. (11) The last two direct transfer messages (UL Information Transfer on the Uu interface and UL NAS Transport on the S1 interface) are used to transport the Attach Complete message to the MME.
