Specialist USC Marshall School of Business Society and Business Lab (SBL) The Society and Business Lab (SBL) at the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business is seeking a motivated, experienced, detail-oriented individual to fill a critical student services role on our team. The USC Marshall School of Business created the Society and Business Lab (SBL) in 2008 to provide support for undergraduate and graduate students and faculty who want to use their business skills to alleviate poverty. The Lab engages with people and practices in the fields of social entrepreneurship, corporate social responsibility, non-profit management, and sustainability that address issues of poverty, education, health, and the environment. Responsibilities/Outcomes Reporting to the Executive Director of the Society and Business Lab, the Program Specialist will: Manage and direct ongoing USC/Marshall student programs, including the SBL Undergraduate Scholars Mentoring Program; Liaise with SBLs network of professional contacts, including SBL Senior Fellows, non-profit organizations, and social enterprises; Manage and direct SBLs monthly Lunch & Learn lecture series; Work with SBL staff to coordinate student participation in events; Communicate events and opportunities to undergraduate and graduate students, University departments, and others on SBLs mailing list; Represent SBL in interdisciplinary programming with other USC schools, programs, and departments and at related conferences and events in the social enterprise community; Coordinate student case competition(s) and/or SBL conferences and evening events; Create advertising materials, maintain website, and post to social media outlets; Liaise with various student groups and mentor individual students; and Assist with other SBL projects and programs as needed and develop new programs as opportunities arise.

Preferred Qualifications The ideal candidate will have:

Education and/or experience in business, social welfare, public policy, sustainability, program management, or higher education administration; Experience working in an educational setting (preferably with ages 18+); Impeccable integrity and high degree of responsibility, accountability and authenticity; Strong communication skills and interpersonal effectiveness, including strong relationship building, team building and conflict management experience; Confidence in public speaking; Proven ability to manage multiple programs independently and also to collaborate in a team setting; and Proven commitment to social justice.
