Travel to UAE Information

Travel Tips - Before Departure to UAE ---------------------------------------------------Please ensure to collect / arrange / carry the following documents while travelling to UAE on Employment: Original Valid Passport Check the ECNR clearance of the Passport (Local Passport office / Immigration) atleast a week before travel. Visa Copy Air ticket or e-ticket Confirmation of the ticket and PNR To carry UAE Dirhams (Min - AED 50 for any exigency at the Airport in UAE) Please make a note of your flight date and time (am / pm) of departure. Always reach the airport, 3 hours from the scheduled time of the flight for any international flight, even when departing to UAE. Please keep your passport, visa copy and the ticket handy in a separate handbag/folder and not in your check in luggage. (Check in Luggage : 20 Kg usually) + (Hand Luggage : 5 Kg 7 Kg usually) Your luggage weight and size allowed on flight varies with every airline, so please check for this information on your ticket or check with the call centre of the airline at least 48 hrs before departure. Please take care that there is no metal objects like rings on fingers, scissors, blades, nail cutters, lighters, body sprays etc been carried in the pockets of trousers / handbags.) It is advisable to stick your name, address and flight destination on the tag of the luggage. Please carry a pen as you would need to fill in the immigration form at the airport. Always carry emergency phone numbers, which would be useful.

Mobile Phones : -----------------------It is advisable to carry your own GSM mobile phone/handset from your country of origin, so that you can buy a SIM card in any phone shop in UAE, else if you are eligible for a sim card facility (prepaid / post paid) from the company (Prominent Telecom Service providers here in UAE are Etisalat and Du.) Calling Cards : --------------------The most economic away of calling abroad (India etc) from the UAE is by using calling cards. These cards are available at any groceries shop. (For example, calling cards are available for AED 30). Traveling in UAE : -------------------------- Taxi Service : There is a 24 hours taxi service available everywhere in UAE and it is also advisable to ask for a receipt from the taxi chauffeur. There is a 24 hr call centre service as well for calling a taxi to the desired destination. Bus Service: There is an incredible bus service well connected to all parts of the Dubai City with a minimum bus fare of Dhs 1.50 fils. (There is a rechargeable NOL card available, which is available for Dhs 20 for availing the bus service). Metro (SkyTrain) There is a state of the art technology, world class metro service available across dubai. Here too, you could use the same rechargeable NOL card). Accommodation in UAE : ------------------------------------- If you are in any of Band 5 and below, then the company would provide you with an accommodation. If you are placed in Band 6 or above, then you would be provided with a Hotel Accommodation arrangement sponsored by the company for 21 days. Within the stipulated timeframe, you are expected to arrange for your own accommodation in UAE. On Arrival in UAE : ---------------------------- As a new joinee, when you arrive at the airport in UAE (Dubai / Sharjah) for the first time, you will be received by our company driver at the airport, who will be carrying a placard with the Home Centre Logo for easy identification. In case, due to some unprecedented reason, there is nobody to receive you at the airport, you are advised to hire an airport taxi to reach the respective hotel address as provided by the company. You are further advised to request the chauffeur for a receipt for your travel from the respective airport after arrival, as it needs to be retained for reimbursement purpose. Please ensure to carry the company telephone no and address, in case of any emergency with the contact persons and the name of the Hotel in case you are provided with a hotel arrangement.

Weather : -------------- It is pleasant in Dubai, from Nov to Feb, where the temperature dips to 15 degrees celsius with slight drizzles occasionally in the evenings and during day time its 21- 24 degrees, so a jumper or a cardigan would be helpful. However, its warm in the other months as the temperature soars from 40 45 degrees.

Office Timings : ----------------------- All employees are supposed to reach office by 8:30 am for work, complying with the company policy.

Dress Code / Attire : ------------------------------ All men are expected to wear a formal attire and women are suggested to wear smart formals while at work in the Landmark Group.
