PRESS RELEASE: CONGREGATION TIFERETH ISRAEL OF PASSAIC, NEW JERSEY CELEBRATES 123rd YEAR Every year, Congregation Tifereth

Israel honors those members whose outstanding leadership, dedication and support have enhanced our shul. This year, we are privileged to bestow four distinct awards on the chosen members, who truly embody the Tifereth. Join us at the shul ballroom on March 10th 2013, as we honor these individuals and our beloved shul in its incredible 123rd year: Rabbi Elie and Suzie Tuchman. Guests of Honor. Elie and Suzie joined our kehilla only a few short years ago, but in that time have made an indelible mark on our shul. There is no task too small or too large for the Tuchmans. Elie, a talented Baal Tefilah, graces us with his davening on the Yomim Noraim as well as on Shabbos and Yom Tov. Suzie immediately became involved in the NShei Tifereth and currently serves as its president. Suzie brings an arsenal of ideas for NShei programs and executes them masterfully. Josh and Bracha Samber. Service Award. Members of the Tif since moving to Passaic seven years ago, Josh and Bracha can always be counted on for their support and assistance in shul-related activities. Josh currently serves as Second VicePresident of the shul, is a member of the shuls Board of Directors and serves as one of the shuls gabbaim. Bracha can always be counted on to lend her support and cheery countenance to many a shul function or event, prepare a meal for someone in need or to be a wonderful hostess for the many guests who need to be housed for a Shabbos or Yom Tov near the shul. Moshe and Zahava Pianko. Young Leadership Award. Since moving to Passaic to start their young family, the Piankos have chosen our shul as their spiritual home. Moshe is a freshman member of the shuls Board of Directors and brings a valuable voice of reason to our discussions. Zahavas affiliation with our shul started when she was a young girl living with her parents, Zalman and Etty Burger, who are longtime members of the Tif. Now married with childen, Zahava deepens her connection to our shul by currently with her active participation in the NShei-Sisterhood, having just completed her tenure as the treasurer. Avi Sebbag. Avodas HaKodesh Award. If Avis contributions to our shul are any indicator, this young man has an impressive future ahead of him! In his senior year at MTA, Avi has been an important component of our shuls youth programs for many years. In addition to being a group leader on Shabbos mornings, Avi has also taught many our younger boys how to lead the singing of anim zemiros from the bimah at the conclusion of mussaf on Shabbos mornings and can always be counted on to help staff the exciting shul events and lend a hand.
