Before reading chapter 9, Did you know?...

There are two main ways to produce reby fric&on and by percussion. The
fric&on method involves crea&ng enough heat from fric&on to ignite, or light,
the surrounding burnable material, or kindling. One common method of
star&ng a re with fric&on is called the re-drill method. The re builder
creates a small pit or groove in a large s&ck or log, which is laid on the ground.
Kindling is placed right around the pit. Then the re builder places the &p of a
