THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The greatest truth I know about life is that love is the answer. If you ask me what the question is, I will tell you it is every question you could ever ask. Love is always the answer to every question and problem. We are here to love and be loved and learn a few things in the process. I can never be wrong when I choose to love. Love rewards me by bringing meaning to my life.
- Dr. Bernie S. Siegel from 365 Prescriptions for the Soul

ANNOUNCEMENTS and NEWS OF THE CHURCH PRAYER OF APPROACH (in unison) All: Invisible God, without the incarnation of your Son, Jesus Christ, we could envision your face only vaguely. You give us the Holy Spirit to enable our prayer and our search for your truth and your will for us. In our worship strengthen us to do your will and help us to know your purpose for us; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. OLD TESTAMENT READING Genesis 15:1-12, 7-18 Philippians 3:17-4:1 *GLORIA

CALL TO CONFESSION Liturgist: The Lord is our light and our salvation; whom shall we fear? With humble hearts, let us confess our sins before God and one another.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION All: Merciful God, you have made us citizens of heaven, but we confess that we have set our minds on earthly things. We have let our desire for security restrain our commitment to serve the poor. We have let our fear of danger curb our obligation to love our enemies. We have let our love of things dull our generosity to the needy. We have let our craving for public status prevent our honesty about hidden sins. Yet, you know the desires of our heart and nothing is hidden from you. By the power of the Holy Spirit, conform our sin-weakened bodies to the glory of Christ, that we may be the body of Christ for the world. Amen. DECLARATION OF FORGIVENESS Liturgist: God, our light and our salvation, does not forsake us or leave us with our sin. In Christ we are forgiven and offered the gift of healing repentance. All: Thanks be to God! * HYMN Be Thou My Vision #378 Praise

We plan on doing this 2-3 Sundays a month and the last Sunday if we choose will be choir Sunday. If you or someone that you know would like to participate, please contact Jean Butler-Smith at 459-2754 to select an upcoming Sunday. Performers are encouraged to provide a selection that can be practiced with our organist, Stu James at a time convenient for both of you. We would also encourage those who play their own music to volunteer, as well. Please come share the Spirit. God Bless You.
