What is an Individual Development Plan?

An individual development plan, or IDP, is a personal development plan developed by AN individual for a fixed period of time, usually one year.
This plan is then reviewed and discussed with the individuals manager to match his or her goals to the company goals. They also discuss various options and approach to achieve the plan. At the end of one year (or agreed-upon time period), the plan is reviewed to see how many goal were met and determined the new goals and plans for the next year. Your Individual Learning Plan (ILP) can be part of your IDP.

What is an Individual Learning Plan?

The focus of the Individual Learning Plan (ILP) is on learning.

The ILP provides each person in our organization with the opportunity of determining what they need and want to learn. Each person will work with their manager to identify the learning goals for the next two years that would be most beneficial to the individual within the core competencies of leadership, business, personal/interpersonal and functional courses. Each individual will receive an ILP based on their current functional role, and it can be customized by the individual and manager.

FAQs

How do I get to my Individual Learning Plan? Your Individual Learning Plan (ILP) is loaded into the GO & EUCS University website. Once you sign up to use the website and then log in, you will be able to see your ILP and the courses that have been assigned to you based on your job family and your learning job role. How can I update my ILP? You and your manager can update your ILP. Look at the courses that have been assigned to you and discuss with your manager whether or not you can be exempt from an assigned course and/or add another course that is a better fit for your skill set and goals.

How can I drop or add a course to my ILP? Using the GO & EUCS University website, under ILP, you can request that a course be added or removed from your ILP. If the course you are wanting to add has a cost associated to it, your manager will receive an email and will approve or deny your request. How do I sign up for courses through the new website? Once you are in your ILP, you can launch all on-line courses here. This will take you to that course in My Learning and you can start your on-line course here. If you are wanting to take an instructor-led or virtual instructor-led course/webinar, you can sign up for these courses through your ILP or through

the course catalog located on the home page of the website. If there is a cost associated with the course, your manager will receive an email asking for their approval. How will my ILP be updated with any courses I have already taken or after I take a course? Each time you successfully complete an on-line course your transcript is stored in My Learning. If you take a webinar course or instructor-led course, your attendance will be recorded and sent to the university program manager. The program manager will pull all transcripts from My Learning once a month and record them in the database. What if I receive a request from my manager to skip a course? After your registration, please kindly have your manager write an email to the corresponding CPO staff member for approval. The academy project team will search for a replacement course once your notification is received. A one-time opportunity cost of US$500 will be charged to your respective CPO staff members cost center if a qualified replacement for the session cannot be secured. What happens if I do not show up for a course? After your registration, if you experience any personal emergencies (e.g., sick leave) that force you to reschedule your course attendance, please do the following:

What is the overall rollout plan? Our site rollout design is based on the aggregated demand for our courses.

For large sites, the demand is more consolidated. Therefore, a good portion of the courses can be fulfilled with the in-class approach. Very little of the fragmented demand will be fulfilled with Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT) or student travel. For medium sites, it will be a balanced mix between in-class and WebEx use. For small sites, Virtual Lead Instruction course and online self learning will be the focus, with some priority courses that may need a participant to travel for an in-class session.

How did the Academy team determine job families, core courses and electives? The team created a four-step process to develop the course offerings:

Identify skill set gaps by job families Prioritize key skill sets on which to focus Develop courses differentiated by job grade and job family Source courses internally and externally

Apply for your managers approval Submit an official email to Supply_Chain_Academy@dell.com stating your reasons with managers approval.

Each step was highly involved with and approved by the executive leaders, managers and the Academy Core Team members. Additional information regarding success measurement, metrics, scorecards and impact training forms will be coming soon. Watch the GO & EUCS University website for more information. Please forward any questions to: supply_chain_academy@dell.com

The Project team will keep a record for the CPO staffs review. Any cancellation without completing the actions mentioned above will result in corrective actions.
