IT Systems Administrator Duties and Responsibilities The Information Technology Systems Administrator will be responsible for the configuration,

implementation, and maintenance of various technologies managed by the Information Technology department. This person will focus on the administration of Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas (LANWT) network infrastructure to include desktop PCs, servers, network equipment, and software applications. Works under the direction of the Information Technology Manager; this position requires excellent customer service and organizational skills to support administrative personnel, department supervisors, staff, and clients. Promote a positive work environment by maintaining respectful interactions with staff members. This position requires the ability to function successfully in both team and independent work environments. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assists in the planning, design, documentation, and implementation of various systems to include desktop PCs, servers, network equipment, and software applications. Monitors and maintains the use of the LANWTs photocopiers and printers. Develops, maintains, and monitors procedures for all server backups. Monitors, plans, and coordinates the distribution of client/server software and service packs. Makes recommendations for new equipment and services to purchase and works with various vendors for procurement. Travel to Fort Worth office 2 days a week. Perform on-site and remote technical support. Assist in the organization and inventory of all hardware and software resources. Maintains excellent communication with the IT Manager on all tasks and projects. Creates and maintains good technical documentation. Provides emergency on-call support on a rotating schedule. Performs other duties as assigned. Provide network and desktop support to over 280 users in 15 branch offices throughout Northwest Texas. Designs, installs, upgrades, configures, and repairs local and wide area network hardware and infrastructure. Support Video Conference for all offices in the Wide Area Network Assist in IT Manager in planning IT budget needs. Evaluates, tests, and recommends appropriate technology for Legal Aid Make frequent visit to branch offices for repair and technology needs. Installs and tests computers and related network hardware in a LAN/WAN environment. Reads technical journals and/or manuals, attends vendor seminars and appropriate professional development workshops to learn about the maintenance and use of emerging computer hardware, Windows 2003/XP/Vista, Exchange Server, etc. Assist the IT manager in developing and coordinating future network replacement plans. Maintains network maps of all sites. Train branch managers with simple network troubleshooting techniques. Oversee network and server configuration maintenance and management Ensuring data is backed up on a regular basis using Backup Exec software Overseeing computer security and anti-virus updates etc. Carrying out client computer maintenance Providing IT support to computer users within the office First port of call and initial troubleshooting of IT problems and resolving if possible

Logging all IT problems and resolutions Liaising and communicating with external support company (i.e. CDW, Dell, HP, Best Software) Overseeing file management on centralized resource (i.e. File Servers, Virtualization Server, Citrix Servers and Application Server) or on individual workstations Maintain and manage VOIP branch office systems Induct and train new staff on the computer systems and company policies Keeping website updated and liaising with txlawhelp.com Keeping inventory of hardware and maintenance records Ensuring all software is properly licensed and up to date Input into IT policies and development Keep abreast of IT technology, maintain library of information Advising on training needs and courses available

Education and Experience: Bachelors degree is preferred but not required. MCSE 2000/2003 and Linux. Telephony/VOIP experience is a plus. Four or more years of systems/network experience is required. Skills and Abilities: Several years experience with Windows 2003/2008 Server platforms with an emphasis on Active Directory. A strong background in Exchange 2003/2007. Solid knowledge of LAN/WAN configurations to include experience with Cisco routers & switches, Internet firewalls, and wireless technology. Basic Windows scripting skills. Experience setting up and managing database systems such as SQL Server. Background supporting telephone systems such as Avaya IP Office. Advanced hardware & software troubleshooting skills. Maintains quality customer service skills, a strong work ethic, and is a team player with the ability to work well independently. Must possess above average organization skills, excellent communication skills, and can demonstrate problem solving skills and displays a willingness to learn. Compensation: From $50,078-$55,553 Yr, based on qualifications and experience. Excellent benefits package which includes paid vacation, holidays, retirement, health, dental, and life insurance.
