DOHA
1. Shri guru charana saroja, raja; Nija manu mukuru sudhaari; Baranau Raghuvara vimala jasu, Jo daa yaku phala chaari
With the dust of Gurus Lotus Feet, I first clean the mirror of my heart and then narrate the sacred glory of Sri Ra m Chandra, the Supreme among the Ragu Dynasty, the giver of the four-fold attainments of life: pleasure (Kama), wealth (Artha), religious -merit (Dharma) and salvation (Moksha)

2. Buddhi heena, tanu jaanike; Sumirau Pavana kumaar Bala buddhi vidya dehu-mohi, Harahu kalesa Bikaar
Knowing myself to be ignorant, I urge you, O Hanuman, the Son of Pavan (Wind God). O Lord! Bestow on me strength, wisdom and knowledge, taking away all my miseries and blemishes.

CHOWPAI
1. Jaya Hanumana gyaana guna saagara, Jaya kapisa thihu loka ujaagar.
Victory to Thee, O Hanuman, Ocean of wisdom and virtue. Victory to the Lord of monkeys who is well known in all three world.

2. Raamadoota atulita bala dhaama, Anjani putra Pavana-suta naama.


You, the messenger of Ram and the abode of immeasurable strength, are also known as Anjaniputra and Pavanputra.

3. Mahaa veera vikrama bajarangi, Kumati nivaara sumati ke sangi.


Mighty, Powerful and stron as a thunderbolt, O Mahaveer, you being the companion of wisdom, dispel dark and ev il thoughts.

4. Kanchana barana biraaja subesa, Kanana kundala kunchita kesaa.


O golden hued Hanuman, you look beautiful with ear-studs and curly hair.

5. Haatha-bajra aur dvaja biraajai, Kaandhe munja ja ne-oo-saajai.


You hold the mace of thunderbolt and a flag in your hands with the sacred thread of Munja grass adorning your shoulder.

6. Sankara suvana Kesari-nandana, Teja prataapa mahaa jaga bandan.


You are known as the son of Lord Shankar and also the son of Kesari, your lustre and glory is praised by the whole world.

7. Vidyaavaana guni ati chaa tura, Raama kaaja karibe ko aatur.


The master of all knowledge, full of virtue and wisdom, you are always eager to serve Lord Ram.

8. Prabhu-charitra sunibe ko-rasiya, Raama-Lakhana Sita mana basiya.


Immersed in listening to hymns on the Lord, in your cherished heart do, Ram, Lakshman and Sita dwell.

9. Sukshma roopa dhari siya hin dikhaavaa, Bikata roopa dhari Lanka jaraawa.
While you presented your slight form to Mother Sita, you assumed demonic size and burnt the c ity of Lanka.

10. Bima roopa dhari asura-sanhaare, Raamachandra Ke Kaaja savaare.


In your colossal manifestation, you killed the demons, fulling your Lords mission.

11. Laaya-sajivana lakhana jiyaye, Shree Raghuveera-harashi ura laaye


You revived Lakshman with the Sanjivani (Nectarine herb said to revive the dead) you brought and Sri Ram Chandra embraced you in deep joy.

12. Raghupathi kinhi bahuta badaai, Tuma mama priya Bharatahi sama Bhaai.

Sri Ram Chandra said you were as dear as his brother Bharat and pra ised you highly.

13. Sahasa badana tumharo jasa Gavai, Asa kahi shri-pati kantha lagaavai.
The Lord of Lakshmi (Sri Rama) embraced you, saying Sheshnaga (thousand hooded divine serpent carrying earths weight on his hoods, as said in the Vedas) and other sages eternally sing your praise.

14. Sana-kaadika brahm aadi-munisa, Naarada saarada sahita-ahisaa.


Not only Sheshnaga but also Sanaka (a Saint), Brahma (creator of universe) and other Gods, Narad, Sarada (Goddess of knowledge) and other sages eternally sing your praise.

15. Jama Kubera Digapaala jahaante, Kabi kobida kahi sake kahante.
What to speak of poet and seers! Even Yama (God of death), Kuber (God wealth) and Digpal (God of directions) praise your glory again and again.

16. Tuma upakaara Sugrivahin keenha, Raama milaaya-raajapada deenha. 17. Tumharo mantra Vibhishana maana, Lankeshwara bhaye saba jaga jaana.
You helped Sugriva (brother of Bali who with the help of Rama was crowned as King of Kishkinda) win back his crown with the blessings of Rama. Vibhishan (brother of Ravana, crowned as King of Lanka after Ravanas death), accepting your counsel, became the King of Lanka. This is known throughout the world.

18. Juga sahastra jo, Jana para bhaanu, Leeylo taahi madhura phala jaanu.
You swallowed the sun, millions of miles away, thinking it to be a sweet fruit.

19. Prabhu-mudrika meli mukha maahin, Jaladi-laanghi gaye-acha-raja-naahin.


Keeping the Lords in your mouth, you jumped over the mighty ocean (in search of Sita)

20. Durugama kaaja, Jagata ke jete, Sugama anugraha tumhare te te.


With your grace all the impediments and the difficulties in the world can get overcome easily.

21. Raama duaare tuma rakhavaare, Hota na aagya binu paisaare.


No one can enter Ramas abode without your consent, O sentinel of the Lord.

22. Saba sukha lahai tumhaari saranaa, Tuma-rac chaka kaa hu ko daranaa.
By your grace one can enjoy all happiness and one need not have any fear under your protection.

23. Aapana teja samhaaro aapai, Tinon lo ka-haanka te kapai.


When you roar, all three worlds tremble and only you can control your might.

24. Bhoota pisaacha nikata-nahin avai, Mahaaveera jaba naama sunavai.


Evil spirits cannot come near the decotees, who chant your name, Lord Mahaveer.

25. Naasai roga-hare saba piraa, Japata-nirantara Hanumata beera.


Chanting your name constantly, O Hanuman, one can be cured of all disease and pains.

26. Sankata te Hanumaana-chudavai, Mana krama bachana dyaana-jo laavai.


Hanuman keeps on, who has him in his heart, deed, word and meditation, free from all trouble.

27. Saba para Raama tapasvi raajaa, Tinake kaaja-sakala tuma saajaa.
The ascetic king Sri Ram is the ruler of all and you even accomplished his missions.

28. Aura manoratha, Jo koi laavai, Soi-amitaji vana phala paavai.


Whoever comes to you for fulfilments of any desire, achieves great fruition in his life.

29. Chaaro juga parataapa tumhaaraa, Hai para siddha jagata Ujiyaaraa.
Your glory is acclaimed in the four Yugas (Satyug, Dwapar, Treta and Kalyug) and your radiance is spread all over the cosmos.

30. Saadhu sante-ke tuma rakhavaare, Asura-nikandana, Raama Dulare.


Sri Ram has great affection for you, O Mahaveer, the decapitator of evil spirits and protector of saints.

31. Ashta-sidhi nau-niddhi ke daata, Asa bara dina-Jaanaki maata.


You are blessed by mother Janaki to grant anyone with any of the eight supernatural pwers and the nine treasures of Kubera.

32. Raama-rasayana tumare paasaa, Sadaa raho Raghupati ke daasaa.


You, with the ambrosia of Sri Ram, are always in the service of Lord Raghupathi (Sri Ram).

33. Tumhare-bhajana Raama ko paavai, Janama-janama ke dukha bisaraavai.


One can reach Ram chanting your name and become free from sufferings of many lives.

34. Anta-kaala Raghuvara pura jaai, Jahaan-janma hari bhakta kahaa-i.


After death he enters the eternal abode (Vaikuntha) of Sri Ram and remains a decotee of him, whenever taking a new birth on earth.

35. Aura-devataa chitta na-dhara-i, Hanumata sei, Sarva sukha kara-i.


Other Gods may not care to take heed but one who serves you, O Hanuman, enjoys all pleasures.

36. Sankata katai, Mitai saba piraa, Jo sumirai Hanumata balbira.


Sri Hanuman, the mighty God, remove all the problems and pains of those, who invoke him.

37. Jai jai jai Hanumaana gosa-i, Krupaa karahu gurudevaki naa-i.
Hail, O Lord Hanuman, be as compassionate to me as a beloved teacher.

38. Jo sata baara, Patha-kara ko-i, chutahi bandi-mahaa sukha ho-i.


He, who chants this prayer a hundred times, is liberated from earthly bondage and enjoys the highest bliss.

39. Jo yaha padhai-Hanumaana chaalisa, Hoya siddhi-saaki Gaurisa.


He who reads these forty verses, as Lord Shankar testifies, overcomes all troubles.

40. Tulasi, daasa-sadaa hari cheraa (x 1), Kijai naatha-hriday maaha deraa (x 2).
Tulsidas (the writer of these verses) is an eternal devotee of Lord Hari. O Hanuman, kindl y reside in my heart forever.

DOHA
Pavana tanaya sankata harana, Mangala moorati Roopa. Raama Lakhana Sitaa sahita, Hrudaya basahu sura bhupa.
O Sri Hanuman, the Son of Pavan, Saviour, the embodiment of blessings, reside in my heart together with Sri Ra m, Lakshmana and Sita.
