Human sexuality

Human sexuality is within the bonds of marriage between one man and one woman. Upholding this standard of sexual behavior would help to reverse many of the destructive aspects of the sexual revolution, including sexually transmitted disease rates of epidemic proportion, high outof-wedlock birth rates, adultery, and homosexuality. General Principles of human sexuality Sexual identity; based on the persons sexual characteristics, such as external and internal genitalia, hormonal characteristics and secondary sexual characteristics. Gender identity; based on the persons sense maleness or femaleness, established by the age of three and believed to have been determined by parents. Biblical principles of human sexuality 1. Sexual intercourse is to be reserved exclusively for heterosexual marriage. 2. Single men and women who engage in sexual intercourse are outside of God's limits and are practicing sin. 3. Married people who have intercourse with anyone other than their marriage partner are defiling a marriage union which God has sealed and are in sin. 4. Like single heterosexuals who engage in heterosexual sex, or married persons who engage in extra-marital sex, homosexuals who engage in homosexual acts are practicing sin. 5. We condemn the perversion of sexuality in pornography, rape, incest, and all other forms of sexuality that deviate from the biblical norm for Christian marriage. 6. Family life teaching and sexual education are God-given responsibilities of parents. The Church's task is to assist both parents and youth in understanding their sexuality in the context of biblical values. When appropriate, sexual education should include risk behavior information and instruction on protective techniques to inhibit the spread of AIDS and all other sexually transmitted diseases. 7. Education and protective techniques alone, however, will not stop the spread of AIDS. Our society needs to understand and acknowledge that there are compelling emotional, philosophical, medical, sociological, and historical reasons for practicing abstinence before marriage and fidelity within marriage.

Love and Human Sexuality Man is called to love and to self-giving in the unity of body and spirit. Femininity and masculinity are complementary gifts, through which human sexuality is an integrating part of the concrete capacity for love which God has inscribed in man and woman. "Sexuality is a fundamental component of personality, one of its modes of being, of manifestation, of communicating with others, of feeling, of expressing and of living human love". This capacity for love as self-giving is thus "incarnated" in the nuptial meaning of the body, which bears the imprint of the person's masculinity and femininity. "The human body, with its sex, and its masculinity and femininity, seen in the very mystery of creation, is not only a source of fruitfulness and procreation, as in the whole natural order, but includes right? From the beginning nuptial' attribute, that is, the capacity of expressing love: that love precisely in which the man-person becomes a gift and by means of this gift fulfils the very meaning of his being and existence". Every form of love will always bear this masculine and feminine character.

Human sexuality is thus a good, part of that created gift which God saw as being "very good", when he created the human person in his image and likeness, and "male and female he created them" (Genesis 1:27). In so far as it is a way of relating and being open to others, sexuality has love as its intrinsic end, more precisely, love as donation and acceptance, love as giving and receiving. The relationship between a man and a woman is essentially a relationship of love. Abstinence and Sexual Health healthy marriage and family formation education to youth in conjunction with abstinence until marriage education, where marriage between one man and woman is promoted as the expected context for sexual behaviors and as the best family structure for raising children. Risk avoidance or abstinence messaging serves as the best primary prevention approach for those who both have and have not been sexually active outside of marriage. This public health approach promotes the optimal reproductive health, sexual health, and psycho-social and societal outcomes. Abstinence education mutually reinforces the risk avoidance message given to youth regarding drugs, alcohol, tobacco, and violence. Based upon sound behavioral theory, abstinence-focused education provides the skills necessary to avoid sexual activity, build character, and develop healthy relationships. Welldeveloped abstinence-until-marriage curricula should be accurate, age-appropriate, and promote a positive view of sexuality in the appropriate context of marriage. Both health care providers and parents should reinforce the fact that abstinence before marriage and fidelity within marriage are the most effective method of preventing sexually transmitted diseases, out-of-wedlock pregnancies, and negative outcomes associated with premarital and extramarital sex. Equally important, such an approach prepares both men and women for the best sex within marriage. Homosexuality Considered a variant of human sexuality, not a pathologist disorder. Most homosexuals reports feeling toward same sex individual since adolescence . Freud believed it was an arrest of psychosexual development.

homosexual conduct is harmful to the persons who engage in it and to society at large, and can never be affirmed. It is by definition unnatural, and as such is associated with negative physical and psychological health effects. While the origins of same-sex attractions may be complex, there is no convincing evidence that a homosexual identity is ever something genetic or inborn. We oppose the vigorous efforts of homosexual activists to demand that homosexuality be accepted as equivalent to heterosexuality in law, in the media, and in schools. Attempts to join two men or two women in "marriage" constitute a radical redefinition and falsification of the institution, and FRC supports state and federal constitutional amendments to prevent such redefinition by courts or legislatures. Sympathy must be extended to those who struggle with unwanted samesex attractions, and every effort should be made to assist such persons to overcome those attractions, as many already have.
