HUNTERSVILLE, NC: (UPDATE): The Huntersville Police Department has obtained warrants for Lorrie Kimberly Griffin, W/F, DOB: 11-20-1967 of 1995 Rock Springs Circle; Denver, NC for the following charges: 1 count Armed Robbery (2-14-2013 Walgreens Pharmacy Robbery, 9848 Gilead Rd) 1 count Attempted Armed Robbery (2-24-2013 CVS Pharmacy Robbery, 7920 Sam Furr Rd) (Original Media Release): On Thursday, February 14, 2013 at approximately 8:09 p.m. the Huntersville Police Department responded to Walgreens Pharmacy located at 9848 Gilead Road in reference to an armed robbery. It was determined that a white female entered the store wearing a black and white jacket, red shirt, black pants, black beanie (possibly with a Philadelphia Eagles logo) and boots. The suspect approached the pharmacy counter, insinuated she had a gun and demanded pain pills from the pharmacist. The suspect fled the store with an undisclosed amount of pain pills. On February 24, 2013 at approximately 5:30 p.m. the Huntersville Police Department responded to CVS Pharmacy located at 7920 Sam Furr Road in reference to a reported attempted armed robbery. The suspect who previously robbed the Huntersville Walgreens on February 14, 2013 and several other pharmacies in other cities was determined to have had committed this robbery as well. (UPDATE-cont.): Huntersville Police Detectives identified Griffin as the suspect and located her at her residence in Lincoln County on February 25th. Huntersville Police contacted the Lincoln County Sheriffs Office for assistance who subsequently arrested Griffin on related charges. Griffin was then interviewed by Huntersville Police and confessed to the robbery of at least seven (7) area pharmacies. Griffin is currently being held in the Lincoln County Jail on related charges to the investigation. The Huntersville Police Department was assisted by the Lincoln County Sherriffs Office, CharlotteMecklenburg Police Department and the Newton Police Department during the arrest.
