The Oil & Gas Industry, which is driven by technology, continues to evolve and globalize. Multi-staged hydraulic fracturing (fracking) of tite gas and oil formations is completely altering the North American supply dynamic! But at what cost? Alumni, staff, students and friends of the Schulich School of Engineering are invited to join a knowledgeable and diverse panel of the nations experts for a lively discussion of fracking. Panelists will address supply-side game changing potential, competitiveness with more conventional supplies, significance to North American energy independence, regulatory isuues, design and execution considerations in fracking, water use and environmental considerations. Participants will engage with panelists at the reception before the presentations, during a facilitated Q&A period and informally after the presentations. Appetizers and refreshments are included (cash bar). Speaking to begin at 6:30 pm following the reception.
