THE POSTLUDE.........................David Hughes Litanies Jehan Alain

Our Lenten series is entitled Dancing in the Darkness. The season of Lent is not marked by sadness, but by disciplined reflection on our lives all of our lives and how they are made new in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. So dancing in the darkness is about, on the one hand, recognizing the tough, sad, sometimes shameful, hurts, and all around bad parts of life. If we begin to name those, the joy we understand at Easter may begin to make sense. On the other hand, even the Sundays in Lent are mini-Easters. So they are in some way celebrations hence the dancing. Many times our pains and difficulties dont go away quickly or easily, but God joins us in our journey to help us find ways of dancing in the darkness.

Lord, I trust thee, I adore thee. Ah! thou friend of man, restore me. On thy loving grace relying, for the bread of life I'm sighing.
