I want to become an aeronautical engineer. Please let me know how I can join this stream? Sudhindra P. However, in some institutes those with diploma in engineering and B.Sc degree are also eligible. Admission to most of the above institutes is through entrance examinations. I am interested in B.Tech degree from Madras Institute of Technology, Anna University, Chennai. Please let me know the selection procedure and pattern of entrance examination. Also, try and understand the nature of work, the work environment and job prospects to make the final decision. Talk to your friends or past students of your college who have opted these fields. You could assess the inputs for the various entrance tests by procuring copies of entrance tests for MBA / M.Tech/civil services held in previous years, which regularly appear in THE COMPETITION MASTER. You could appear for mock tests/ aptitude tests which are easily available for MBA entrance exam in magazines/ websites. An MBA offers a wide range of employment opportunities but you must make a strong effort to make it through the management entrance tests. Civil services is an excellent option which offers one a chance to serve the country and hold a prestigious position in society. Pursuing M.Tech is a good idea, but you have to be an excellent student if you wish to have a bargaining position for employment as there are relatively few specialised jobs for individuals with an M. Tech degree. Remember that courses do not offer great careers. It is what you do with the courses that makes or breaks your career.
