but not well enough to be sure if any

observer went behind a shed in an
attempt to get closer to the bird and
when she emerged the GE was gone
and the adult BE female was perched

2 Time: 1500 golden eagle Carol Bandy, Larry Bandy 100 yards west of VA 640 and 300 Fledgling GOEA on ground hopped
fledgling yards south of VA 639 around displaying tail while tossing
something into the air. As the bird
jumped and flapped the observers got
a very good look at the top of its tail.
The tail was very solid white with a
wide solid dark band on the edge. The
head looked like it was glowing in the
sun. The observers watched it for 15
minutes.

It was unreal. My wife and I were
birding in Highland County north
time WV line of Blue Grass around 10 A.M. and we

group of eleven we counted three

immature birds. We heard an eagle
calling and looked up and there were a
Bald and a Golden interacting.
Often when we look for eagles we
are unsure if we are seeing the
same birds over and over, but this time
the number was for real as they
were all at one place.
About 1:30 we saw an adult Golden
Eagle south of Blue Grass soaring
with a Raven.
