Montessori- Education for Peace- 10 Years

The month of February was busy with preparations for the unveiling of the new Silver State Library! A ceremony was held on February 27th and featured the High Desert Choir singing patriotic songs. Thanks to the hard work of Ms. Brigitte and the Stillwater classroom in obtaining a $2,500 Dolan Grant for our school in which they ordered bookshelves and purchased books. Our Science Fair highlighted the amazingly creative and well-thought out projects from all grade levels throughout our school. Below are the student inventions and experiments which will represent High Desert Montessori at the Regional Science Fair held at Lawlor Events Center on March 28th:

HDMS will continue to follow Montessori philosophy which provides: A multi-aged community in which students learn from one another as they move from one plane of development to the next. Use of Montessori materials and philosophy which assists students and teachers to promote self-exploration, achievement and independence within the classroom. Citizenship skills through peace education, conflict resolution and student government activities.
