Synopsis
For over 5 years I have helped build and grow brands by connecting them with audiences across digital and traditional media. Im always looking for the right idea for the problem, the audience and for the brand. My passion for finding unique yet appropriate ideas pushes me to continually champion compelling solutions that are beautifully executed. I tend to fall in love with great ideas and I dont want to stop polishing them until theyre as good as they can be. I began my career as a graphic designer, working though the roles of senior visual artist, creative specialist and now creative director. The places Ive worked have most often been smaller design studios and advertising agencies and web development and consultant firm. I like the many hats one gets to wear in smaller agencies. At times thats meant Ive forayed into brand strategy, communications consulting and any number of related disciplines. Im an adept designer, illustrator, and an amateur photographer and I also bring my unique experience and broad skills to bear on my work. My artistic background helps me develop creative that works across channels and engages audiences in novel and compelling ways. I am as strategic as I am creative and Im as interested in outcomes as in execution. Im passionate about design, advertising, marketing and photography. With an eye to the future, Im constantly trying to find new ways to do things better, to create more engaging and more rewarding work. I studied Higher National Diploma in Computing at Esoft College of Sri Lanka. A lifelong student of the design and advertising industry, I am continuously building my skills and using my experience to create lasting value for clients.

May 2012 - Present Creative Director / Co-founder at Kamuda.lk / www.kamuda.lk I manage overall coordination and execution of design for the project and responsible for creative direction for websites/webapp and collateral material design layouts, branding and user experience.

August 2011 - Present Creative Specialist at Cortexus / www.cortexus.com.au I joined Cortexus in 2011 to lead the creative services there. As Creative Specialist, I ensure the results of the creative process meet or exceed our clients needs and expectations. I help create user experience, communication, and brand strategies and develop creative approaches that align with our clients business objectives. I am deeply involved in the creative process, generating ideas and strategically guiding them to target. I work closely with the creative teams, mentoring and guiding, providing creative standards and developing processes that help create highly effective, strategically driven work. I am a creative team lead on most of our clients projects, including Phil and Lil, ICPM, Bookstore.com.au, Andrew Lee Lawyer and Associates and more. Also at Cortexus weve been working on our own project called Rehand an online garage sale website for Australia (www.rehand.com). As a creative director I am supervising project workflow from concept to delivery and Responsible of maintaining the standards for project and branding. Creating brand communication materials on online and offline mediums, microsites and online visual experiences/user experience, illustrations and other types of collateral materials.

March 2011 August 2011 Sr. Visual Artist at Digibrush Productions / www.digibrush.net Phew, what didnt I do there, seriously. I made outdoor ads, indoor ads, print ads, radio ads, TV ads, web ads, did identity design, some point of sale, some brochures.. you get the picture. I got to work on a great creative team and did a ton of cool things. Heres the highlights: Came up with a cool seasonal campaign for Hameedia a leading fashion chain in Sri Lanka themed The Royal Wedding which boost their sales upto 25%. Developed and executed campaigns for the Ezy Racing including print, outdoor, merchandise and also cars. Developed and executed campaigns for HSBC contest game-pieces. Created many campaigns for eSys and EZY computers included outdoor, print, and a ton of collateral. In between all that was a number of cool projects for Amana Bank, Emerald, Crocodile, Gigabyte, Shirtworks, Focuss and more...

January 2009 March 2011 Sr. Creative UI Designer at Bountylab International / www.bountylab.com I managed the creative side of Bountylabs web and application development. This Included creative strategy development for all aspects of Bountylabs business. Project lead for a wide variety of web and print projects. I Designed and Implemented plenty of content management driven websites, intranets and interfaces for a variety of web-based appliciations . Excelled in graphic design for content management systems. And also I Lead for numerous web and print development projects. Included proposal designs, strategy/project planning, client liaison, project design, development and implementation. Along with Bountylab International, I worked for its sister company Bountylab Education which is a educational consulting firm and assisted the design direction of all marketing materials, website and collaterals.

Skills and Competences

Organizational Skills Since 2008, when I became designer, I developed and improved my organisational skills, leading a highly creative team of graphic designers and work together with the development team. The challenge was to be able to coordinate and work with the team in order to keep high standards of execution and concept within a given amount of time. Coordination between the design team and the development team was crucial and I gained experience in working with my team and to advise the clients in order to maintain the highest quality possible for our projects.
