Stages of the lesson

1. Warm- up : the T will ask if there are any absent students, the T will ask about the day and the month and will write the data on the bb, the T will orally check students homework. 2. Presentation: The T will introduce the aim of the new lesson to the students- that is new vocabulary about fruit and vegetables and how to ask something that they want when going shopping. Pre listening: the teacher will write on the bb two circles with one word in each, and will ask the students to say as many words they know similar to those given as an example.

The T asks the students: Can you name some fruit you know? Can you name some vegetables? What are your favorite fruit? What about vegetables? While the students name the fruit and vegetables they know, the T writes them down on the bb, at the proper circle and the students copy them into their notebooks. While listening: the T asks the students to open their books at page 61, and while the T will write the title of the lesson on the bb, the students will copy it into their notebooks ( 12. DO YOU HAVE ANY BANANAS?). Then the students will look at ex 1/ 61 (track 47 on cd), they will have to listen to the cd twice and identify any unknown words. After listening: the T will explain the difference and usage of SOME and ANY. Then altogether they will repeat the text. The T will correct any mistake. Then they will role-play the text (characters: TICO, SHOPKEEPER 1, 2, 3, SUE, ANDY). 3. Controlled practice: The students will look at ex 2/ 61. They will make short dialogues asking about the things shown in the pictures. For example: Do you have any robots? Yes, I have some robots. No, sorry. I dont have any. The students will look at ex 1/ 62. They will listen, point and repeat the new words about fruit. (track 48). They will then get a grid identical to the one in ex 2/ 62. They will listen to the cd and they must tick or cross the fruit they hear. Then they will glue the grids into their notebooks. In order to check reading comprehension, in pairs the students will role-play similar dialogues as in the model given in ex. 3/62 and 4/ 62 Then the students will look at page 63 exercise 1. (track 50). They will listen to the text on the cd-player twice and then they will read it aloud.

4. Less- controlled practice: The students will get a bingo card similar to the one in the textbook. They have to tick the things they have and cross those they do not have. Then in pairs they must make short dialogues asking each other what they have: Do you have any.? Yes, I do. / No, I dont. Then students will turn at page 64 ex. 1 (track 51) and they will listen to a short dialogue. Then in pairs again they will do similar dialogues asking for things, with the objects they have in exercise 2/ 64. I want a pencil, please! Red or blue? Blue, please! Here you are! Thank you! Students will pay attention to exercise 3/ 64 (track 52). They will listen to the short dialogue. Then orally they will make their own dialogues using the model given in the task and the pairs of items to buy. This will be orally done, in front of the class. 5. Relaxing activity: READING FOR PLEASURE --- Mmmmm! Delicious! The students will listen to the story on the cd (track 13) , then they will repeat it, each student reading one sentence. 6. Feedback: students will do from their practice books the following ex. 1, 2, 3 / 41, 4, 5 / 42, 1, 2, 3/ 43.
