Description 5 port 3 position control valve Explanation Normally closed. Symbol Description Check valve Explanation Symbol
Normally open.
With spring.
Pressure centre
Pilot controlled.
5/2 unistable valve with unistable manual override. Solenoid with pilot valve.
Valve with two inlet ports and one outlet port that automatically shuts off the exhausted inlet port. Valve with two inlet ports and one outlet port. The outlet port is pressurized as long as pressure is applied to both inlet ports. Non return function in the inlet port. When the inlet port is unloaded the outlet port exhausts into free air.

9.5 A short descritption of common standards
Table 9.5.1 ISO 5599/1 ISO 5599/2 VDMA 01 VDMA 02 CNOMO ISO 6431 Table 9.6.2 Degree of protection against water Second digit The standard is applicable to the interface surface for pneumatic valves with width 38, 50, 64, and 74 mm. As above but the electrical connection are standardized as well. The standard is applicable to the interface surface for a pneumatic valve with width 26 mm. As above but the width of the valve is 18 mm. The standard is applicable to the interface surface for pilot valves (width 30 mm.) The standard is applicable for tie rod cylinders including mountings. 4 3 0 1 Designation No protection Protection against water dripping vertically Protection against water dripping from an angle Protection against water spray Protection against splashing water Protection against water jets Protection against flooding Immersion proof Degree of protection No special protection. Water dripping vertically should have no harmful effect.
Water dripping at angle less than 15 with respect to the vertical should have no harmful effect. Water spraying at any angle less than 60 with respect to the vertical should have no harmful effect. Water splashing from any direction should have no harmful effect.
VDMA 34553 The standard is applicable for tie rod cylinder. IEC 144 DIN 40050 Protection and insulation grades for electrical equipment.
Water jets from any direction should have no harmful effect Temporary flooding, e.g. by heavy seas, should not cause water to enter in sufficient quantities to have harmful effect. Water should not enter in sufficient quanitities to have a harmful effect during the immersion of the device under specified conditions of pressure and time. Water should not enter in sufficient quanitities to have a harmful effect during the submersion of the device under a specified pressure and for an unspecified period of time.
Submersion proof
No protection No special protection for persons against accidental contact with current-carrying or moving parts. No protection for the device against ingress of solid objects. Protection against large solid objects Protection against contact with a large area of current-carrying and internal moving parts, e.g. by hand, but no protection against intentional access to these parts. Protection against ingress of solid objects with a diameter of above 50 mm. Protection against contact of fingers with current-carrying or internal moving parts. Protection against ingress of solid objects with a diameter of above 50 mm. Protection against contact of tools, wires or similar, thicker than 2,5 mm, with current-carrying or internal moving parts. Protection against ingress of solid objects with a diameter of above 2,5 mm. Protection against contact of tools, wires or similar, thicker than 1 mm, with current-carrying or internal moving parts. Protection against ingress of solid objects with a diameter of above 1 mm. Complete protection against contact with current-carrying or internal moving parts. Protection against harmful dust deposits. The ingress of dust is not completely prevented, but the dust does not enter in sufficient quantities to harm equipment. Complete protection against contact with current-carrying or internal moving parts. Protection against ingress of dust.
