ABOUT ENGLISH FESTIVAL
English Festival around East Java is the annual agenda held by English Student Association, FKIP Unisma. This Festival specializes in English Competitions which are participated by Senior High School students of East Java. This agenda is basically proposed to develop students English skills. It must also be the method of measurement to know whether or not East Java students are competitive to face the globalization with their English skill. THE COMPETITIONS 1. English Speech Competition 2. English Debate Competition 3. English Olympiad
DETAIL INFORMATION:
1. ENGLISH SPEECH COMPETITION PARTICIPANTS Participants are active students of Senior High School students of East Java either private or state. THE REGISTRATION Date & Fee

: March 1st - March 31st 2013. IDR 65,000 : April 1st - April 18th 2013.

Fill the registration form Include a piece of your picture (3x4) and your copied student ID card Put them in yellow map Pay the fee and submit the requirements above to the English Festival Committee in Islamic University of Malang, Jl. MT. Haryono 193 Malang 65144. GENERAL RULES Each school can maximally delegate 3 students (60 participants caps) The Topics are: - Education - Culture - Health - Environment Participants must make 4 articles related to the each topic given The article must be submitted to the juries before the speech presentation
The speech presentation maximally presented in 7 minutes
Having registered on his or her behalf, participants cannot be represented by others. If the participants are absent on the due date of the competition, thus, they will be considered failing, and the payment cannot be returned. Participants must wear their school uniform
Each school must delegate one delegation/teacher to attend the technical meeting at April 21st 2013 in Islamic University of Malang, Building C.
ELIMINATION ROUND
The elimination round of English Speech competition will be held on: Day Date Time Place : Saturday : May 4th 2013 : 08.00 AM : Building A

The best top ten will go on to the next round of elimination session and must present the speech. In this session, participants must present the speech related to the prepared topic and will be interviewed by the juries in the end of the presentation.
Juries will choose the best top five to be the grand finalist. GRAND FINAL
The grand final of English Speech competition will be held on: Day Date Time Place : Sunday : May 5th 2013 : 08.00 AM : Building A Islamic University of Malang (UNISMA) Jl. Mayjend Haryono 193 Malang 65144 The best top ten will present the English speech with sudden topic given by the committee 15 minutes before the presentation.

MT. Haryono 193 Malang 65144. COMPETITION DETAILS The system used is Asian Parliamentary System (APS) 5 minutes for substantive speech, 3 minutes for reply speech


4 preliminary rounds and 4 eliminary rounds (Octofinal, Quarterfinal, Semifinal, and Grandfinal). The prepared motions will be announced a month before the competition Each school can maximally delegate 3 teams (20 teams caps). Each team consists of 3 debaters and 1 adjudicator (The adjudicator is the valid coach of the debaters or the experienced teacher NOT the students) Having registered on his or her behalf, participants cannot be represented by others. If the participants are absent on the due date of the competition, thus, they will be considered failing, and the payment cannot be returned. ENGLISH OLYMPIAD The elimination round of this competition will be held in 7 branches in East Java; they are Malang, Lamongan, Mojokerto, Pamekasan, Probolinggo, Situbondo, and Jember. Students whose hometown is out of those 7 branches can join the branch near to their hometown based on the criteria below: Malang - Probolinggo - Mojokerto - Lamongan - Situbondo - Jember - Pamekasan

MT. Haryono 193 Malang 65144. GENERAL RULES Each school can delegate the students as many as possible *) Note that all participants learn TOEFL, TOEIC, and IELTS as references. Having registered on his or her behalf, participants cannot be represented by others. If the participants are absent on the due date of the competition, thus, they will be considered failing, and the payment cannot be returned. Participants must attend the competition in the late 30 minutes before it starts. Participants must wear their school uniform. Each school must delegate one delegation/teacher to attend the technical meeting at April 21st 2013 in Islamic University of Malang, Building C. *) A teacher delegating five or more students will be fully regarded with a
certificate of appreciation.
ELIMINATION ROUND
The elimination round of English Olympiad will be held on: Day & Date Time Place : Sunday / April 28th 2013 : 08.00 AM : In 7 branches (Malang, Pamekasan, Probolinggo, Lamongan, Mojokerto, Situbondo, Jember)*)
The best top ten from each city will go on to the next round in Islamic University of Malang.
