WRITING A PROPOSAL (for practical purpose) A) Identify an area of interest such as Language teaching and learning, Language Testing,

Error Analysis, Translation, Teacher Development and so on B) Read the list of proposal and thesis of your department C) Conform it to your supervisor D) Reflect and explore possibilities for preparing your researchdepartmental researches, current professional issues, etc E) Collect anything that looks useful for your broad area F) Review the available literature (here literature refers to anything i.e. previous researches, journals, books, newspapers etc.) G) Frame the title H) Evaluate the research title from different perspectives i.e. availability of sufficient data, time, energy, patience etc. I) Prepare a draft that includes your vision for whole research activity J) Talk to your supervisor, discuss and finalize title K) Familiar with the format i.e. Use TIME NEW ROMAN FRONT For the running text 13 point For the immediate heading 14 point Use up to 16 point For sub-heading- 14, main- heading -15 and for outer page heading 16 Margins: right(1 inch), top(1 inch), bottom(1 inch) and left (1.5 inch) Use all capital letters for title, chapter numbers and chapter headings The first letter of the content world and grammar words having 5 or more in heading or subheading should be capital Follow the APA system for reference citation Indent the quotation if the quotation is more than 40 Use up to 4 digits in categorizing sub heading for example 1.1.1.1 L) Start to write a proposal
