Pakistan Human Development Fund Gala (Logistics Coordinator) Sourced venues and oversaw site inspections and logistics for New York City fundraiser and staged musical that took place in Los Angeles, New York and London. (2004) The Kindness Concert in Bryant Park (Talent Coordinator) Marked Tourette Awareness month, kindness as a concept and the power of a library card with a free musical concert and award-winning short musical for the children and adults of New York; raised awareness of Tourette Syndrome; featured Grammy winners Tom Chapin and Julie Gold and Tony winners Lucy Simon and Willie Reale. (2003) Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure - Race operations, on-site management and logistics for breast cancer run in Central Park. (2003) All American Girl (Interviewer/NYC - TV auditions) Interviewed contestants for participation in reality-based game show in search of the All American Girl involving women talented in dancing, sports, singing and acting. (2003) J&R Music Festival (Talent Coordinator) Annual music festival in New Yorks City Hall Park sponsored by J&R Music featuring variety of performers; increased traffic to J&R Music retail store. (2002) Tai Chi in The Park (Event Manager) Oversaw consumer promotion and staged production of Chinese tai chi, music and dance in New Yorks Central Park for Hong Kong Tourist Association; received Special Events Magazine Gala Award/Best Event Produced for a Non-Profit Organization & Best Achievement in Logistics; promotion increased New Yorkers awareness and strength of Hong Kong as a tourist destination. Revitalized the festival, increased level of community involvement and expanded festival marketplace area raising number of exhibitors and attendance. (1999) First Night New York - New Years Eve (Site Manager/Stage Manager, World Financial Center; Lincoln Center/Bryant Park Restoration) Oversaw site management and logistics for New York Citys family oriented, nonalcoholic community-based celebrations of the arts. Managed staff, security, performers, production and technical crew, volunteers, equipment load-in and box office. Directed events involving a masquerade ball with big band and orchestration of fireworks display over the Hudson; written up in NY Times article. City achieved objective of family oriented, non-alcoholic New Years eve celebrations. (1998 - 2000) Boston-New York Aids Ride (with James Earl Jones) (Production Manager) 3-day, 250-mile bike ride with 4,000 individuals from around the world culminating in a closing ceremony hosted by prominent celebrities and covered by national press. Eclipsed all previous records by grossing a whopping $7.4 million, becoming, in its first year, the most successful AIDS fundraiser in history. Presented by Tanqueray. (1992) Asian-American Awards Banquet (Production Manager/Stage Manager) AA Legal Defense & Education Fund Lunar New Year Banquet (with Connie Chung, B.D. Wong, Joe Papp); covered by Entertainment Tonight & Asian Cinevision. (1991) Shea Stadium Concert Series (Producer/Stage Manager) Successfully produced performance of New York City theatre troupe to kick off baseball games; showcased groups singing skills, promoted their upcoming show and raised theatrical groups visibility. (1991) American Council for the Arts Gala (Production Manager/Stage Manager) Oversaw production activities for performance of Forbidden Broadway at New Yorks Equitable Center; fundraiser successfully reached targets/objectives to raise monies for the arts. AMC Cancer Research Center Fundraiser (Project Coordinator) Managed most successful fund-raising campaign in 19 years - raised over $1 million for AMC Cancer Research Center honoring then-MTV Chairman, Bob Pittman. Recommended, designed and implemented procedures to monitor daily campaign contributions more efficiently and accurately. Developed new sources of funds and increased donations through daily reports and fund commitment follow-up. Initiated and created commemorative event album for honoree, setting precedent for future events. (1984) Black Music Association Gala (Project Coordinator) Coordinated planning through execution of event to raise funds for the association; achieved image-enhancing and fundraising goals.
