NAKONE, IGT Sicilia, Chardonnay 100%. Idea of drawing.

The label image is taken from the classic vascular iconography of Sicily. Underlining, with the suggestion of the gesture of raising an amphora, the ancient cultural tradition of the consumption of wine in these lands. The vineyards are located at an altitude of 600-700 metres, exposed to the north west, a dry soil rich in calcium and clay, as is favourable to this grape variety, for a slow maturation. In a special place, in the shadow of the Temple of Segesta. Out of this sacred union of nature and culture, came Nakone, a city that was never discovered, a wine that didnt yet exist. Nakone, a city never found by the Elimi, inspired us to name our first wine. Nowadays, rapidity has rendered out of date those classic fundamental truthsof our culture, in praise of a superficial new-old concept. And so it is, countercurrent, at Segesta, on a classic soil, close to an incredibly beautiful Greek temple, a grape variety that will produce great things where the location permits. To rediscover the class, rejecting conformity. Nakone represents a new and elegant interpretation of a potent and antique grape variety.

ERO, IGT Sicilia, Nero dAvola 100%. Idea of drawing. The image, on a background of black (a colour that recalls the obscurity, the uncertainty, of the provenance of Nero dAvola and to the intense colour of the wine of this grape variety) has at its centre a serpent covered in feathers. The curve of the serpents head hides the letter S, whilst the tail hides the letter N, so that ERO becomes N-ERO-S, to be read N-ERO if one reads it from the tail, and ERO-S if it is read from the head. The serpent is the symbol of EROS in the legend of Love and Psyche. Psyche, for the ancient Greeks, is the soul, the vital breath, that feeds (breathing onto the feathers of the serpent) Love, that is, Eros. Evocation of black, the essence of a grape variety that comes from afar. Roots. The past tense of the verb to be. In person, to be in that land, to make that wine. A challenge for the present to reclaim its roots. Oscuro. Eros that hides itself. On the label, a feathered serpent. A breath, and it reveals a hidden wine. The ancient myth of Love and Pysche feeds the search for an obscure wine. Yet loved unconditionally.

ERSE, Etna Rosso DOC, Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio. Idea of drawing. The image on the label, with the ancient Greek frame on the background, suggests a feminine profile, with the eyes of Erse, the God of dew, in the foreground. It refers the sun rise and the dew of the dawn. The blue colour refers to the Azure of the drops of dew, to the Azure of the skies above Etna, the Azure of the eyes of Silvia Maestrelli. The red Erse expresses the fragrant immediacy of a vintage Nerello.

Erse, the memory of the sunrise and the dew of the dawn. The Azure of the drops of dew. The Azure of the skies above Etna.

IL MUSMECI, Etna DOC Rosso, "cru" Nerello Mascalese. Idea of drawing. On the label, the stylized image of the 18th Century palmento (millstone) in lava stone of Tenuta di Fessina. It immediately recalls the idea of Cru that accompanies the communication of the flagship corporate wines. Our cru of Nerello Mascalese is dedicated to the Musmeci family. In a special way to Mr. Musmeci, he who for so many years conserved I Vigne di Fessina the vineyards of Fessina - with so much love that today we are able to work with wines that are over eighty years old. It is the history of this extraordinary land, with its landscapes, its colours, its civilization, that are entwined with the destiny of individuals. And of the wine that is born there.

LAENEO, IGT Sicilia, Nerello Cappuccio 100%. Idea of drawing. The image on the label suggests the view from a window of a public square with Corinthian columns and recalls the ancient Greek squares where the January celebrations of "Lenee" were made to the God of wine. Laeneo. "Dioniso eased his concerns by drinking a young wine in the mists of January. At the crackling of the embers, in the evening, wine and meat create blood and sentiment, interior strength, courage in the face of the beginning of new times".

A PUDDARA, Etna DOC Bianco, Carricante 100%. Idea of drawing. The image has in the background the blue colour of the sky over Etna. The bright concentration high to the left is the dust of the stars of the Pleiades (a puddara, that is the cockerell, the hen, the chioccia, as the Sicilians call the Pleiades or Seven Sisters -, stars that are seen in Summer from the sea behind the summit of the Volcano Etna). The red stripe is the trail that the fishermen follow, seeing the Pleiades, returning home after a days work. It symbolizes the imminent return home, the return to the land. The ruby sign could also be an allusion to the flow of volcanic lava. A Puddara is a wine dedicated to Sicily and, like the Pleiades (or Seven Sisters), that are pulsating object in the sky, is a little continent whose heart pulses in the middle of the Mediterranean. A Puddara the mother hen for the fishermen and the farmworkers, in memory of the Poetry of Ovidio represented a signal that indicated the direction of work and of life. We imagine the fishermen of Riposto who return from the sea and that, looking up at the volcano, observe the Pleiades hidden right behind the point where, as though it were a roof garden, stands the vineyard of our Carricante. It is a rigorous and sharp wine like A Muntagna (the Mountain) that stands out against the night sky
