1. Introduction The SVCP-Alumni Communicator Development Package is the website which will in turn used by the Student/Alumni to interact with College. The Proposed website provides the platform to share the current happenings. The main objective is that the website will have interaction between alumni and College. 2. Company Profile This Polytechnic is the first institute established by the Sinhgad Technical Education Society in the year 1993. It offers Three Years / Six Semester (1O+ level) Diploma courses in Engineering and Technology in the branches of Civil Engineering, Computer Technology, Electronics and Tele-Communication Engineering, Information Technology and Mechanical Engineering. It has produced excellent results in MSBTE examination with many of the students securing ranks at the state level. In a short period of Seventeen years it has attained the status of Premier Polytechnic in the State of Maharashtra. It also offers Post Diploma in Automobile Engineering and Advance Diploma in Robotics and Automation. Also the polytechnic had started 2nd Shift from the year 2008-2009. The Polytechnic is fully equipped with modern infrastructure facilities such as spacious lecture halls with modern audio-visual aids, fully developed laboratories, library, reading rooms, seminar hall and computer labs. It has qualified and experienced faculty that makes the backbone of the Institute. The staff is dedicated and this is the reason that Polytechnic could achieve such high teaching standards. Our mission is to empower manpower by providing them with a dynamic and caring environment for acquiring professional skills, through an education that is holistic, student-centered, value-based and creative in the pursuit of excellence The Polytechnic is assessed by the National Board of accreditation, New Delhi with its Mechanical Department accredited for 5 Years and Civil Engineering Department accredited for 3 Years since 11-06-2004 1.2 Existing System and Need for System The system we are going to develop will be majorly driven by the user. Admin: Admin will be there for managing the website as well as allowing the contents to post which are authorized. As website will have positive news only the admin will also check for it.

User: User is the main entity in any system. User is the one who will use this Communicator Package. The user also can register for alumni Festival. Also he can like or comment on other news posted on Website. New User Registration: This component is used for user registration and storing that record into the database. Using this interface one can introduce new candidate into database as well as modify existing candidate entry. From here one can rearrange id of the candidate according to their name. The need for the system: This system can be useful to share news among the student who visits the site. It will be the faster medium to reach an individual. Everyone can get the current update from college. As well as it will save the money and only genuine news can be posted. This system achieve following features Proper flow of information Information Updated to the Database Efficient and quick retrieval of information Efficient and quick permissible updates Clarity in presenting of information

3. Scope of Work: User Login with his existing Email and password User can post his feedback. Also user can edit or update his profile.
User can comment about posted update from college. Everyone can get Update, news of college very easily with good contents.

4. Operating Environment: Software Requirements: Technologies

ASP.NET (Front End), C#.NET

Application Libraries : .NET Classes Database : SQL Server2008

Hardware Requirements: CPU Memory

: Pentium IV or above. : 512 MB RAM or above. Windows XP/Windows 2000 / 2003,

Operating Systems: Windows 7.

5. Detail Description of Technology Used: 3- Tier Architecture: We are using 3-Tier Architecture. This involves one more layer called the business logic tier, service tier or middle tier (layer). In the client-server solution the client was handling the business logic that makes the client thick. A thick client means that it requires heavy traffic with the server, thus making it difficult to use over slower network connections like Internet and Wireless. We are using IIS Server for application server. Which provides middle layer between client browser & database?

2. Proposed System: 2.1 Proposed System: System will be able to maintain user and admin related information.
System will be flexible to get update, register for events according to user

needs. System will be able to send notification to users account. The proposed system so totally based on computer and decreases the human anomalies. There is high security mechanism provided by the proposed system. No unauthorized person can make change in data those are in system. Only authorized person can make changes In our proposed system, all the processes are carried out by computer so naturally it will require less time than traditional system. Allocate a user name and password to the every new user. Provide flexible operations to user.

2.1.1 Feasibility Study: While developing any computerized system or a commercial website it is necessary to examine whether the developed computerized system is feasible in the point of view operational, technical and economical.

2.1.1. A. Technical Feasibility As the hardware and the software requirements of the system are mentioned in the "System Requirement", we can show the technical feasibility of the system as follows: As the required hardware and software is cheap so generally it is available at most of the sites.

Since the software is developed in .Net, hence the processing of the system is very fast. The outputs produced by the system are feasible, as it requires a fraction of seconds to produce it. Hence, he response time is also negligible. Also, the software can manipulate the large volume of data. The software also has higher degree of accuracy, reliability; usability and integrity while all its operations. 2.1.1. B. Economic Feasibility This system is cost effective. We can list the reasons for the economical feasibility of the system as follows: As the required Hardware and .software is cheap so generally it is available at most of the sites. Even if the required hardware and software is not available, it can be purchased at very less cost. As mentioned in hardware requirement, only one PC is sufficient for the implementation of this system. And market price of PC is not so high, so the hardware is cost effective. As far as the development of the system is concerned, the time factor, manpower, etc. required for the development of the system fits into effective cost. In all to make this system operational and maintainable is not very much economically costly for both the developers and the users. The system will be provided with automatic system generated surveys and reports which will help in reducing the manual work. 2.1.1. C. Operational Feasibility The proposed system operationally feasible. The reason for the system to be operationally feasible is as follows: The changes made by the proposed system will not much affect the working of existing system. The proposed system will only help the working of the system and will not affect its original goal. Proposed system will not disturb the organizational structures. 2.2 Objectives of the system:

The main objective of this project is to develop a website which will help an every individual, Student, alumni to get the update from college and provide useful interaction with college from every corner of the world. Forum based discussion
Adequate searching mechanisms for easy and quick access to particular update

of college.
User can post his/her feedback which is from his area. The positive feedback can be shared only. The user suggestions are taken. Regular notifications to users account any new update of college through

email, Facebook, tweeter, linkedin. Facility to update his/her profile as and when required.
Facility to like and comment to news posted by college. Facility of approving each and every news by admin so that no one can post

unrealistic contents. So forum moderator require. Facility given to admin so that he can delete/block users. User able to watch image gallery and see the college related images.

To use this web site user need to have An internet connection. Basic computer knowledge. Should have their email account for notification.

3. Tasks for Iterative Phases/Development Cycle

A software development methodology or system development methodology in software engineering is a framework that is used to structure, plan, and control the process of developing an information system. The Waterfall software development model has been in use for a number of decades and it is still commonly used in software development projects today. It is a

sequential model where the development process goes through a number of phases in a certain order. While it has been replaced to a large degree by the iterative models of software development, Waterfall still has its place in today's IT world. Basically, it requires that any project goes through the stages of requirements analysis, design, implementation (coding), verification, and maintenance. In comparison to iterative models, the Waterfall model is seen as inflexible and linear though it's preferred by many who feel iterative software development methodologies lack discipline. Although there are variations, in the true Waterfall model, the project only moves from one phase to the next when a phase is completed in its entirety. Therefore, no work will begin on the design phase until requirements analysis is complete. Also, there is no room for backtracking, so when a phase is complete it has to be right. The Waterfall model is often used for very large software development projects and may involve development teams working in different locations. Once implementation, or coding, is complete the various components will be integrated into a working piece of software. The verification phase will involve testing and debugging of the software before it is released.
