Course Description
ACLS is based on simulated clinical scenarios that encourage active, hands-on participation through learning stations where students will practice essential skills individually, as part of a team, and as team leader. Providers will enhance their skills in treating adult victim s of cardiac arrest or other cardiopulmonary emergencies. This course emphasizes the: importance of basic life support CPR to patient survival integration of effective basic life support with ACLS interventions importance of effective team interaction and communication during resuscitation The course includes simulated clinical scenarios that encourage active, hands-on participation through learning stations where students practice essential skills individually, as part of a team, and as team leader. Intended Audience The course is designed for healthcare providers working in emergency treatment, intensive care or critical care, and other professionals who may need to respond to a cardiovascular emergency such as physicians, nurses, emergency medical technicians, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and other professionals. Certification American Heart Association ACLS for Healthcare Providers Course Completion Card valid for two years. Certificate of Completion accredited by HAAD for 11.5 CME hours Assessment In the classroom, students engage in simulated clinical scenarios and learning stations. Students work with an AHA ACLS Instructor to complete ACLS skills practice and skills testing. Students also complete a written exam.
