I asked for apologetic arguments. You provided none. Zero.

I wanted to see if you at least understood what the alternative arguments. And so far, I'm not seeing it. The man on the table's higher arm is not his arm, the "fingers" are the feathers of a bird's wing. There should be a bird between the man with jackal head, and the bird with man head. You threw a lot at me. Nothing we haven't seen before. But lets tackle this one. Who states the above must be the case What proof do you have that these should be feathers, and not the end of a hand? Can you show any similar scenes where one bird has closed wingtips and the other has open wingtips? A single one will do nicely. All you have to do is show precedence here. Further, you also have to show why the hand below is a hand, and the one above which looks incredibly similar (finger tips, smaller hooked thumb, etc) is not a hand. Must all lion couch scenes include two birds? Can they include one? >What proof do you have that these should be feathers, and not the end of a hand? ~~There is a copy of the unedited facsimile in [this](http://www.utlm.org/other/robertritnerpapyriarticle.pdf) document.~~ If you scroll down and look at it you can see that it is dotted, just like the bird next to it. ([Flackerman](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_KLa8HYsfpM&list=UUkrtz91FQ sfHredrm6DIdhw&index=1) does a pretty good job of explaining this.) That seems to suggest its a second bird, not another hand. While I was typing this you added a link to the JS Papers website. The new scan still includes what look like dots to me. And [this](http://i.eho.st/pp6zqqq2.png) image suggests that it could be just another bird as well. >Further, you also have to show why the hand below is a hand, and the one above which looks incredibly similar (finger tips, smaller hooked thumb, etc) is not a hand. I dont see the top hand having fingertips or a hooked thumb. Part of me feels like this is you working within a concept of what you think the facsimile is supposed to look like. Starting with the conclusion you want and making supporting data instead of finding data and making your conclusion. The hand could also belong to someone else, there are other images with hands in the air: http://www.flickr.com/photos/37267908@N06/3473627931/. Now at first I thought this cant be right because in the facsimile that was supposedly translated by JS there arent legs under the table, so this image cant apply. Then I realized in the image I just linked to you, there arent any legs there either, probably to preserve the things underneath the table.

The hand could be a myriad of things. There are lots of different things it could be and it would be a really hasty generalization for us to say that it is for sure another hand drawn in. [Here](http://www2.ida.net/graphics/shirtail/liion.jpg) is one possibility and [here](http://www.mormonismi.net/jamesdavid/mormpict/coucher2.gif) is another. The hand could be another bird, or another person, or a fern, or numerous other things Im sure. Next, I dont understand why its anyone elses burden to show that the facsimile, as translated by JS is correct. That is the burden of the LDS church and its members. If I told you I could fly youd say prove it, and if you come to me with something that was supposedly translated by JS, Id respond the same way. Also, after looking at the image for a while Im starting to see the thumb, though Im still not sold on it, especially given the other image with the wingtips circled, there appears to be a curl in that wing that could be what you're taking to be a thumb. >Must all lion couch scenes include two birds? Can they include one? It looks like they can have as many as three, from the pictures Ive seen. I dunno though. Is there a website with lots of pictures of Egyptian hieroglyphs? Specifically, parts of the Book of Breathings?

(The image is of [John Fellows](http://books.google.com/books?id=7cQNAQAAIAAJ&pg=PA441&lpg=PA4 41&dq=John+Fellows+Lion's+Couch&source=bl&ots=0hml93fzDr&sig=TF4hhJGGJCF5bB_tuSlbaLXhU&hl=en&sa=X&ei=_XJCUfioG8q9yQHc5ICgCw&ved=0CEMQ6AEwAg#v=onepag e&q=John%20Fellows%20Lion's%20Couch&f=false) Lion Couch, not sure what the significance of that is.)
