Ques. Write a report to the Director of your institution on the cause of indiscipline among students and ways to improve the situation. Keep in mind the format of report writing. The Director General Rukmini Devi Institute of Advanced Studies New Delhi Dear Sir, Subject : Indiscipline in Students Indiscipline in the distortion of controlled moral or mental behavior. It may also refer simply to the intentional refusal to follow rules and regulations of a given society. The above defined aspect is to rampant in the students today. This fully may explain why many of the prison and police cells are filled by no one but a majority of the students. Below therefore are a set of factors that are advance to explain the emergence of indiscipline among the students. In a wide analysis, it has been noticed that the indiscipline among students is born from peer grouping. It is through the peer groups that the students learn drug abuse, which has given birth to not only robbery but also massive violence in society. In their groupings, students have learnt to plan for evils such as strikes, murdering and skills for stealing among others. It is because of this that one should however come to believe that indiscipline in students is a born of peer pressure. Mass media how however also taught students to be more indiscipline than ever. It is not surprising that today girls and boys both dress indecently, and if anyone attempts to correct or comment on the dressing code, students become violent and aggressive even terming the advisor to be a backward fellow whose eyes have learnt nothing from the four corners of the world. Sincerely speaking this is nothing, but an acute indiscipline in the youth. And the o nly factor to blame is mass media. The upheavals in todays society are yet to blame for indiscipline. These upheavals included corruption among leaders, immorality and poor methods of governance such as dictatorship among others. In a democratic world, this many not look like a cause but may be called a justification rather. You find in todays society that there are some leaders who are corrupt and immoral. If these leaders come to advice or talk to the youth, the youth may not listen to them or may do a contrary of what they are saying just as a demonstration to them. Of course the youth are blamed and in this case termed undisciplined by shallow minds because they always say: Boss is Boss. In demonstrations, youth have always been caught and put under police custody for what is termed as indiscipline. In this respect therefore, democracy has yielded its seed called indiscipline because, if a student is given time to choose between wrong or right, he may end up choosing a wrong thing to be right for him/her and in this case if he/she is denied his/her right he/she may demonstrate later to be called indiscipline. Some youth are undisciplined simply because they have a burden. Some may be poor, sick or abandoned by their warders/guardians because of the above student may take respect for anybody or anything as a solution to his/her frustrations. Hence this leads to indiscipline. However, in schools where law tends to be restrictive and students or youth are over restricted tension and pressure is caused among the youth/students and administrators hence leading to violence. This may work most appropriately where the line of communication between administrators and their subjects (students/youth) has been broken. Given a wise saying that: an idle mind is or devils temple, it may also be true to state that unemployment of today is responsible for the indiscipline of the youth. With the above report I would also like 2

to suggest some ways to improve this situation. Firstly, although you are close to their age, youre first their leader before youre their friend. Just having the title of youth pastor and the backing of the church leadership sets you apart, so dont be afraid to use it. Secondly, Studies have shown that parents who discipline are shown more respect and love from their teens because discipline proves to the kids that their parents love them. Youre the leader of the group, so you set the tone and standards for what happens. Enforce it. Thirdly, If you say there are certain consequences for an offense, follow through with it. Although its hard the first couple times, you earn their respect and they learn to trust your word when you say something. Fourthly, Be assertive, take charge and do whatever is necessary to manage the group. Again, youre the leader. If they dont respect your authority, the group may become chaotic and ministry effectiveness will dwindle. Basically, it comes down being tough and setting yourself as the leader. Hopefully you can do this by earning their trust and respect, but if not, you may have to enforce it in other ways whether they like it or not. Fifthly, Setting some guidelines and boundaries officially on paper is a good idea, too. In conclusion, it is amazing to note that as the tradition is dying, permissiveness and its modern ideas have killed the societys regulations of today. And that is why it is significant to remark that indiscipline is enjoying the youth. Yours Sincerely (Neha Goel) New Delhi Dated : - 24-October-2012

Ques. Write notes on any four of the following in not more than 50 words:(a) BATNA concept of negotiation process. BATNA is the acronym for Best Alternative to a Negotiated Agreement. BATNA is the choice you can make if you conclude that negotiating with a particular party is not likely to yield a favorable result. You can walk away from a negotiation if your BATNA is better than the likely outcome of that negotiation. It is crucial to think of BATNA as having two stages in a negotiation. You start off with your 'walking-in' BATNA; the things you can influence or control before the negotiation begins. However, once negotiation starts, the BATNA is a dynamic element, changing as you derive information about the interests of other parties and their constituencies and as you compare the resources each party has available to bring about and fulfill an agreement. In negotiation, rather than looking at cards, we are assessing information about our own resources, those of other negotiating parties, and the influences on each negotiator from their constituencies. (b) Steps required to develop positive personal attitude. Here steps of positive personal attitude 1.Always use positive words in speech and writing. Regular use of the phrase "I can't" may convince your mind that it's true. Instead, try telling yourself that you will do your best. 3

2. Push away negative feelings. Don't allow yourself to dwell on the bad things in life and in the news. Everything negative should be balanced by the positive - look for it! 3.Believe you will succeed. There is nothing like believing in yourself to create a successful reality. Give yourself the benefit of the doubt and believe that you will succeed at fulfilling your goals. 4.Take the credit for your deeds. Be proud of your accomplishments - list them if you need to and don't worry too much about the failures. Give yourself the break you'd give others for their mistakes. 5.Learn from the past. See where you went wrong and avoid repeating the mistake, but don't beat yourself up over it. Move on. 6.Be grateful for the things that do go well. Even when the bad appears to outway the good, there will be areas of your life which are still successful. List them! 7. Avoid negative people where possible. Don't let them drag you into their way of thinking. Try to stay with people who are upbeat. 8. Listen to positive and upbeat music. Make CDs of upbeat songs and listen to them whenever you need feel in a negative mood. Good music can lift and change a negative mood into a positive one. (c) Types of Business Reports. (d) Role of Technology in communication.

Business Communication
The many tools and powers that technology makes available to the business owner and employees can help the business succeed in its goals after understanding how to use them properly. Collaboration Before anything else, work can be done collaborating projects and documents using such computer programs such as Google Docs, Zoho Writer and, to a lesser extent, MS Word, which allows several users to work on a single document while placing changes/descriptions and even modifying the document in real-time. Telephony Sometimes, businesses need to make conference calls bringing several people together and technology can help here too. Programs such as Skype or Gizmo Project offer Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services that allow individuals and businesses to call places all over the world for prices much cheaper than regular landline services. Online Media Sites such as Youtube see millions of hits a day, with online video and audio becoming extremely prevalent on websites. Businesses can capitalize by making their own media. Companies can create in-house advertisements for use on websites, webinars on the use of products that can further communicate between businesses and their consumers, and provide education.

Social Media With the rise of social networks such as Facebook, Myspace, Digg and others, a form of crowd-based media known as social media has emerged. Businesses can take advantage of social media as another aspect of business communication, by performing such tasks as creating profiles on social networks, submitting online media to sites such as Digg, and using websites like Twitter to answer consumer questions. Automation You can also automate certain tasks. Years ago, sending an email of a document or backing up a computer required extensive time, thus reducing productivity. Backups can be done today with a mere click of a button and automatic emails can be sent on a routine schedule with a minimum of work. A company that works automation to its fullest advantage can concentrate on more important tasks at hand, while reducing cost and increasing productivity in the workplace, as well as optimizing success for the business itself.

(e) Importance of Grapevines for corporate. Significance The importance of a message sent through grapevine communication varies based on how relevant the information is to individuals. For instance, a new hire will likely be less interested than a tenured worker seeking career advancement to learn that a position in corporate will be available shortly. Additionally, grapevine communication helps to increase the effectiveness of internal business communications. Efficiency 5

Business Communication
The grapevine improves the effectiveness of internal organizational communications by providing stress relief and creating empathy. According to the article "Managing the Grapevine," written by Dr. Jitendra M. Mishra and published in Public Personnel Management Journal, the grapevine gives workers an outlet for venting frustrations, allowing individuals to work more efficiently throughout the day. Grapevine communication also improves efficiency by letting others understand how personal and professional pressures may affect an individual's job performance. Considerations According to Reference for Business, a business encyclopedia, grapevine communications significantly impact internal business communications in workplaces with unhealthy communication by creating a more trustworthy avenue for communications. Workers who have frequently been misguided by managers tend to become more inclined to trust grapevine communications than formal communications.
