INTERNATIONAL HOUSE OF PRAYER FORT WAYNE LIVING AND ACTIVE PT 2 THE NEW SONG REVELATION 14:1-5

Last week we spent some time looking a couple really Powerful realities in a message I shared called Living and Active. The Word of God is Living and Active Hebrews 4:12 reality is that The Word of God is a Man name is Jesus. John 1 and Revelation 19:13. We also spent some time looking at how Jesus said His words were from the Father but then according to John 14:8-ff they became the very acts of the Father upon the earth.

Of Course the Powerful Conclusion of those thoughts are found in John 16:13-16 Jesus asssures His disciples that the Holy Spirit will give the words of the Father to them as well. Matthew 10:20 he actually says it will not be you speaking but the words of the Father. I want to talk tonight with the same Title Living and Active something containing the very life and energy of God The New Song Revelation 14:1-5

The New Song Phrase occurs many times in the Old Testament Reality its never a 'new song' Marked by old unchanging words New situation Always consists of 3 things Backdrop is despair, death and failure of man. It is a Corporate expression Always has this anticipation of something that is impossible for man to accomplish and is not fully seen Gods total deliverance. New Song in the New Testament Occurs Twice in the NT Both in the book of Revelation First in Revelation 5:9 'and they sang a new song' Next is here in Rev 14

Now the context's are very very different. One is Heaven and the last one here in Rev 14 on the Earth and its really intense! Chapter 13 Beast from the Sea and Beast from the Earth and the Image of the Beast. Chapter 14 Doom for the worshippers of the Beast The Reapers going forth this is the image that most get the language of the end time harvest.

The passage is all about the 144,000 that number that some have taken and perverted into a theology that God will have a select number of those who are super saved! This could not be farther from the Truth talked about in Chapter 5 He purchase men for God from every tribe language and people. This 144,000 is simple another picture of how God sees the Bride of His son! These are those who belong to Jesus they are not the 'harp and bowl' movement. They are the Worshipping Bride! Now before we sort of drop into the text lets be reminded of this intense picture that John has just seen of the Beast and its Image.... Not miss Chapter 14:1 1. Could be a call to the Body of Christ Then I looked..... Catch that? To see the Lamb He looked AWAY from the Beast. Beloved I submit that one of the greatest struggles I have had with what I will call the 'end times' crowd are those who have not gotten from chapter 13 to chapter 14. Yes there will be great conflict and difficulty but we the beloved Bride will be declaring a New Song in the midst of it ALL! Catch this verse 1 when He looked He saw 2 things! The Lamb Rev 5:8 standing as if slain the one who has taken death. John 1:29 behold the lamb who takes away the sin of the World Beloved For the Word of God to be alive active and a New song in our mouth we need to Look at the Lamb. Isn't that a huge part of what Prayer and Worship are all about? Not so much to tell God how to fix the issues of the earth But that we align in Trust to who He is...the Lamb standing on Mt Zion. There is a King Col 3 lets stop shuffling our feet and looking down Look and Behold the Lamb The Lamb AND this time Rev 14 The 144,000 The Bride! 144,000 = perfection Have His name John 1:13 Now its Jesus and His Bride....watch what happens next verse 4

Verse 2 I heard a voice from Heaven, like the sound of many waters thunders Rev 1:15 His voice was like the sound of many waters Jesus Rev 6:1 Thunders are the 4 living Creatures....

John is on the earth expereincing the Sounds of Heaven Rev 1,4,5,6 on the earth...... And the secret is simply this Christ in you! Yes, Christ in you bringing with Him the hope of all the glorious things to come. Col 1:27b JB Phillips 2/22/2013 Page 2

Verse 2 That sound is the Sound of Worship Verse 2-3 This poweful confluence of the Sound of Heaven being echoed and declared upon the earth and echoed back and forth. Is the Sound of Worshippers Singing the New Song! Verse 3 New Song As I shared earlier this phrase only occurs 2 times in the New Testament. It is distinctly different from the Old Testament 'new song' Reality its never a 'new song' Marked by old unchanging words New situation Always consists of 3 things Backdrop is despair, death and failure of man. It is a Corporate expression Always has this anticipation of something that is impossible for man to accomplish and is not fully seen Gods total deliverance. So what is this New Song echoed from back and forth from Heaven and Earth and that John says here in Rev 14 no one could learn.....really cool groovy songs for the annointed prophetic worshippers? It is distinctly different from the songs of Heaven..... Heard worship leaders say 'we get to join the anthem of Heaven' Yes but you get to sing a song that now get this was NOT sung in Heaven! This Beloved is the Song of REDEMPTION! ONLY HUMANS get so SING this SONG! ONLY THOSE WHO have in Faith accepted the Gift of REDEMPTION! You get to sing a song that Angels cannot and will never sing! The Notes of the Songs of the Redeemed.... Strike a song about the Glory of The Redeemer! And the Glory of the Redeemed! I want you to consider this reality the next time you feel intimidated by force of contradiciton and the conflict of the enemys breath on your spirit. The weapons of our warfare are mighty...for the pulling down of strongholds. Could it be that I don't have to pull anything down? Could it be that I need to Look Behold and Sing a New Song? Could it be that the greatest Power to defeat all the Power of the evil one....1 John 2:12-14 John is writing this in the middle of pointing out the conflict that these young beleivers found themselves in the midst of..... No one could learn the Song....except the Redeemed! 2 Cor 5:21 Romans 8 I John 3:1 Galatians 2:20 The New Song Living and Active filled with the life and energy of Heaven expressed upon the earth!

Verse 4-5 Not defiled themselves....this is not about idolatry not adultry. Point those who have found their life in Christ NO one can purify themselves. So beloved this is about remaining hidden in the Life of Christ - Romans 7:4

Verse 4b these are the ones who follow the lamb.....what an incredible description of our life in Christ. I am one who follows the Lamb wherever He goes. John 10:3-4 means we know His voice. What does it look like? Phillipians 2 Galatians 5
