ELECTION OF SENATE PRESIDENT AND PRO-TEMPORE - Lauren Verno was nominated for Senate President, accepted her nomination - Morgan Vollrath was nominated for Senate President, accepted his nomination - A motion was made to close the floor for nominations. No objection was made. - Lauren Verno gave a five minute presentation. o Question: 3 - Morgan Vollrath gave a five minute presentation. o Questions: 7 - Move to a vote using roll call: o Verno: 62 o Vollrath: 22 o Abstain: 3 Lauren Verno was sworn in by Chief Justice Matt Michel as the new Senate President. - A motion was made to open the floor for Senate President Pro-Tempore nominations. PUBLIC DEBATE: - Senator Yang- Congratulated the new Senate President and Pro-Tempore. - Senator Sherman- Thanked Christina for the Paper Plate Award. Gave his support for Davis Bean for member at large. - Senator Comiter- Gave his support for Nancy Nguyen for member at large. - Senator Hunyh- Gave support for Nancy and Davis for members at large. Said they show initiative and leadership. - Senator Yanes- Congratulated new Senators and spoke about an organization in the College of Desgin, Construction, and Planning that us looking for new members. - Senator Bryan- Spoke about an Outlet Initiative that he will be working on that will hopefully bring more outlets to Marston Science Library. - Senator Fisher- Gave support to Davis and Nancy for members at large. - Senator Pinkston- Congratulated Lauren and Cory and Christina on their new offices. - Daniel Landesberg and Christina Bonarrigo used remaining time to say jokes. - A motion was made to open the floor for nominations for two members at large. OFFICE OF THE STUDENT BODY PRESIDENT None PRESIDENTS REPORT - Senate President Verno thanked everyone for electing her. Said that she will inform Senators of her office hours, liasons, and parliamentarian as soon as possible. - Announced that she will re-charge the 700 Codes Ad-Hoc Committee o Questions: 1 - Reminded Senators that constituency is due Friday. COMMITTEE REPORTS: - A motion was made to send out all committee reports through email. The motion passed.
