THE PRINCIPLE OF THE ASC

THE HYDRAULIC OPERATION OF THE ASC WORKS ON DIFFERENTIAL HEAD. AS LONG AS THE SLUDGE DISCHARGE LINE IS LOWER IN ELEVATION THAN THE WATER LEVEL IN THE TANK, THERE WILL BE POSITIVE FLOW THIS WILL CREATE SUCTION THROUGH THE ORIFICES AND DRAW THE SLUDGE INTO THE HEADER PIPE.

SIMPLE ENGINEERING CONCEPTS

- THE SUBMERGED STAINLESS STEEL CABLE RUNS FROM THE DRIVE THROUGH AN IDLER PULLEY SYSTEM TO EACH END OF THE TANK. -THE MOVEMENT OF THIS CABLE GENERATES THE HEADER TRAVEL ACROSS THE BASIN FLOOR -100- 0 IS THE MAXIMUM LENGTH ON A BASIN -AND 30- 0 MAXIMUM LENGTH ON THE HEADER PIPE -AND THE FLOOR CAN BE FLAT OR SLOPED, BUT CAN NOT HAVE WAVES.

A SIMPLE OPERATIONAL CONCEPT QUALITY, RELIABILITY AND LOW MAINTENANCE

-HIGH DENSITY POLYETHYLINE (HDPE) HOSE WITH PVC NIPPLES IS STANDARD. -THIS IS ATTACHED TO THE 304 STAINLESS STEEL HEADER PIPE. -A FLOOR CLEARANCE OF APPROXIMATELY 3-1/2 IS RECOMMENDED.

APPLICATION

TRADITIONAL SEDIMENTATION BASIN

Traditional sedimentation tanks The ASC system is the optimum choice for flat bottomed or sloped floor tanks. As the suction head glides through the sludge, it removes the settled sludge without gross disturbance and with minimal dilution. This not noly reduces sludge volumes, but also thickening costs as well High-rate sedimentation The ASC submerged sludge collector can be easily installed or retro-fitted into the plate settler or tube settler systems. Good quanlity sludge can then be removed as raw water conditions demant.

HIGH RATE SEDIMENTATION WITH TUBE SETTLER

ASCs optional control systems give each plant the flexibility to meet their individual needs. For example, plants that employ sedimentation basins find that sludge settlers unevenly in the basin, with more accumulating in the inlet area. ASC advanced optional control systems can be programmed to increase sludge removal at the inlet of the tank. This evens out the sludge load and provides consistent sludge for thickening and disposal.

Compensate for high solids production water a double header driven by single cable system. The travel length of the header will be designed to draw the desired amount of sludge from the basin where sludge production is greatest. Double header also accommodate the extra long basins design. You can rely on ASC to customer-design a full set of options that will address the unique requirements of your plant.
