ENROLLMENT INFORMATION
Grade level is determined by the students grade in Fall of 2013. Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. Classes will be offered subject to enrollment, and may be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment. Classes will accommodate 30-35 students. Requests for changes will be granted only if space permits.

PAYMENT INFORMATION Tuition $150 for Elective Enrichment Courses, $250 for Repeat Courses, and $350 for Advancement Courses. A $75 deposit for each class due upon registration. Remaining balance is due May 13, 2013. REFUND POLICY Full refund less $25 processing fee if cancelled before May 20, 2013. Registration form must be accompanied by a deposit, full payment due May 13, 2013. Registration deadline May 13, 2013. Full refund will only be made for classes cancelled by FGUS after May 30, 2013. A partial refund of 50% will be made if requested prior to May 29, 2013. No refund will be granted after May 30, 2013, except for verified medical emergencies. TO ENSURE ENROLLMENT All forms, including payment, must be COMPLETE. Please make sure all emergency information is current and included. Confirmation notices will be mailed home prior to the beginning of summer school as classes are confirmed. Make checks payable to FGUS. All fees must accompany registration forms. Non GUSD students must provide proof of immunization, or provide the name and phone number of the present school for immunization compliance. Final payment for each class must be received no later than May 13, 2013.

ELECTIVE ENRICHMENT

ENGLISH SAT PREPARATION This course is an intensive preparation course for the SAT. Students will be able to take this class as an elective. The units of instruction will focus on test-taking techniques and SAT content review in English. (PASS/FAIL) OFFERED SEM. 1 MATH SAT PREPARATION This course is an intensive preparation course for the SAT. Students will be able to take this class as an elective. The units of instruction will focus on test-taking techniques and SAT content review in Math. (PASS/FAIL) OFFERED SEM. 1 DRIVERS EDUCATION This course is a prerequisite for Driver Training. It is the classroom phase of the program and include instruction in the vehicle code to prepare the student to pass the driving test required for a drivers license. (PASS/FAIL) OFFERED SEM. 1 & 2

CHEMISTRY (CP) This laboratory course covers topics including atomic theory, chemical reactions, solutions, the periodic table, chemical bonding, structure of molecules, the mole concept, reaction rates, equilibrium, solubility, acids/bases, oxidation/red reduction. OFFERED SEM. 1 & 2 U.S. HISTORY This course examines the political, economic, religious, military, scientific and cultural events that have affected the rise and growth of our nation with an emphasis on the 20th century. The student is expected to be able to explain, analyze and evaluate major events and influences in U.S. History and to make connections between time periods and events. OFFERED SEM. 1 & 2 WORLD HISTORY Students will analyze the trends in world history connecting the events of the past with their impact upon the present and the future. Focus topics include: the rise of democracy, Industrialization, Imperialism, Colonialism, Nationalism, and Totalitarianism.

GOVERNMENT This class focuses on the history, framework, and operation of local, state and federal bodies of government. Students are encouraged in community participation and to develop abilities to analyze the state of democracy today. PREREQUISITE: Incoming 12th grade only.

BIOLOGY (CP) This standards-based course include chemistry of life, cell organelles and their function, cell division and meiosis, DNA structure and replication, protein synthesis, heredity, genetics, evolution, and ecology. REPEAT COURSES

SPANISH 1 This is a beginning-level world language course, emphasizing communication in areas of functional necessity. OFFERED SEM. 1 & 2

ECONOMICS Reviews general micro and macro economic theory through the application of basic concepts on various projects and simulations, including an opportunity to participate in free enterprise week which connects with local business and government leaders.
