WRITING AND PUBLISHING ARTICLES IN NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL JOURNALS

We are happy to inform you that Loyola Institute of Social Science Training and Research (LISSTAR), Loyola College, Chennai-34 is organizing a one-day workshop on Writing and Publishing Articles in National and International Journals for academicians, research scholars and post-graduate students. Prof. Palanithurai, Gandhi Gram University, Dr. Maran, Sairam Institute of Management Studies, Dr Balasubramaniam and other eminent scholars and editors will be the resource persons. They will share their expertise to write good articles. SIGNIFICANCE An article is a stand-alone section of a larger written work. In contemporary scientific world, this non-fictional prose composition appears as an essential part of academic journals, magazines, newspapers and e-publications. Writing articles on socially relevant themes and publishing them in reputed national and international journals is the best service that one can render to the world wide academic community. Besides, publication of articles in journals is one of the mandatory needs for academicians. Through this intellectual practice, the author becomes world wide-known and reputed researcher. Hence, many scholars aspire to be recognized by the national and international scientific community. Nevertheless, they do not know how to write articles to the satisfaction of the editors of the national and international journals though they may have innovative and fascinating ideas. Many potential writers struggle to organize their thoughts in a logical framework on a particular theme and develop it into an article. This is a special skill and it has to be acquired only by proper and rigorous training by experts. Once this skill acquired, then writing articles will become an enjoyable intellectual work. To facilitate the potential writers to acquire this skill, LISSTAR is organizing a one-day workshop. COURSE CONTENT Significance of Publishing Articles in Journals Guidelines to choose a relevant theme for articles Features of well-written article

 Presentation of End notes and bibliographical references Expectation of editors Challenges in Writing and Publishing Articles Analysis of an article and preparing a blue-print of an article Besides theoretical inputs, each participant will be asked to analyse the structure and the content of an article. Following this analysis, each participant will be asked to choose a relevant theme for an article, prepare a framework, which will be presented in the common session for feedback from the experts. Spot registration fee is Rs. 1000/Kindly confirm your participation on or before October 3, 2012 either through e-mail or in-person. Since we have limited number of seats, we will register the participants on the basis of first come first served. Accommodation is available for participants from outstation at the rate of Rs 150 per day.

Note: Loyola College is launching the first issue of SOCIAL CLANCE a multi-disciplinary
Journal in Social Sciences and Humanities. The first issue will be released before September 22, 2012. Articles on socially relevant themes are welcome. A list of National and International journals will be given to the participants.
