at Arlington. VUB is an intensive educational and skills program designed specifically to serve the needs of todays veterans. A unique range of services are offered which are designed to prepare eligible veterans for success when they enter their chosen educational program, whether that is at a university, community college, or technical school. If you are interested in continuing your education, the time to act is NOW! We can assist you in getting up to speed prior to starting classes, giving you a leg-up and a sense of confidence as you return to the classroom. Services provided include:
Personal academic advising and career counseling Academic and career assessments Academic refresher courses in math, science, composition, literature, foreign language, and computer skills Assistance completing college, financial aid, and GI Bill applications College readiness workshops Tutoring and mentoring Financial literacy workshops Referrals to other agencies providing supportive services to veterans
All services, including instruction, textbooks, advising, and supplies are provided FREE for qualifying veterans. VUB serves 135 veterans each year from Dallas and Tarrant Counties. If you dont currently live in one of these areas call us we might be able to refer you to a program closer to your location.
