A simply supported girder AB of 25 m span is subjected to a train of wheel loads shown in fig. The loads cross a girder from right to left. A uniform load of 30kN/m, 9m long crosses a girder of 30m span. Calculated the maximum SF and BM at a section 12 m from left hand support. Also find out the maximum shear and the absolute maximum bending moment in the beam.

Problems on ILD for Trusses :


Ex 20 : Draw ILD for force in L1 L2, u1 L2 and for shear in L1 L2

Fig. Ex 21 : A pratt truss of 36m span, has six panels of 6ms each. The ht of the truss is 6m. Draw the IL for the force in the bottom chord member and the diagonal of the third panel from the left. Also calculate the maximum force in the bottom member of third panel for a udl of 100 kN per meter run, longer than the span. An N-truss a span of 30m, depth of 3m and is divided into 10 equal panels draw IL for force in the top chord and diagonal of the fifth panel form LH support. The dead load is 2 kN / m, travelling load of 10 kN / m run, 15 m in length, crosses the girder from left to right. Determine the Maximum and minimum stresses left in these members and state whether the panel needs counter bracing.

Use Muller Breslau Principle.
