Reflection I have received the assignment on the Kerja Kursus Pendek, English Language Proficiency (WAJ 3102) on the

first meeting on 2 nd July 2011. I got the question for Text 1 which is, The Importance of Grandmothers. To understand the requirement of this assignment, I have done will help me to understand and fulfil the requirements of the question. The main problem that I faced while doing this assignment is that I am not good in writing and communicating in English. Besides, I was pregnant and just giving birth to my fifth child two weeks ago. In addition to that, I also have to look after the other four growing up children while doing other school chores. To solve the above problem, I have done a series of group discussions with other team members. We have divided our tasks to ensure that we will be able to come out with the best outcome for the given task. At the same time, we have asked opinions and ideas from Pn Muna Al-Asri. I also have referred to the websites to gather some relevant information and materials for this assignment. Last but not the least, I also referred to my sister in law to get some assistance and guidelines in terms of correct English usage. Generally, there are also many things that I have learnt in preparing this assignment. Among other things, I know that I need a lot of patience in the preparation of the text and in the process of recording the forum so that my team members and I will be able to come up with the best presentation. I also realized that I have to be more confidence and ask around especially from other people who have more knowledge and experience in writing and communicating in English. In addition, I got very meaningful information on the importance of role played by a grandmother in our family. We cannot deny that, beside parents, a grandmother also played a very importance role in ensuring the survival of her generation. If I am given the opportunity to do this assignment again, I will make sure that it will done in a more systematic and proper way. I think I should go to the library and get more references from relevant textbooks and journal make sure that the out will be more interesting of good quality. In addition, I should refer to other English lecturers or

other experience colleagues such as those who are doing TESL or PGSR. I believe that if I got related sample assignment, I will use the materials as additional references for this assignment. Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to my team members for their commitment in the preparation and the accomplishment of this task. I also would like to dedicate a special appreciation to Pn Muna Al-Asri for her patience in guiding me. Last but not least, I will forever be grateful to my sister in law for her assistance, to my husband for his support, and for my children for understanding that their mother is furthering study.
