CPU2 Hints
Situation: On CPU2 the ESA service keep restarting
(because it tries to login into the TWP_admin). Manuel login in the
TWP_Admin is not possible, too.
3 known reasons why the login-in in TWP would not possible:
TimeZone or Time is not set correctly (either on CPU2 or on the host PC)
Solution: Correct the timezone + date/time
Factory problem (serie number below 100),
How to find: It is not possible to open the shared directory in C:\Program
Files\TWS3\TWS_Services\TWS_GenericServices
Solution: in the directory C:\Program Files\TWS3\TWS_Tools\NtfsLinks, start
DeleteLinksProd.bat and then CreateLinsProd.bat
Temporary file can not be overwritten
Solution: Reset the IIS server by typing iisreset in a command shell, and
delete the whole content of the following directory:
C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\Temporary ASP.NET Files

RTP Relay
Aastra - 2011
RTP Relay
Having Routers, Firewalls, DMZ, VPN, etc. in a network might
make the VoIP routing quite complicated. In such cases the CS will
support the indirect switching for VoIP connections.
Indirect switching means, that the RTP data are relayed via the
communication server.
A GSM terminal (with extended feature set) calling in over SIP
trunk is already switched indirectly (to be able to receive the DTMF
commands).
Now the RTP relay (indirect switching) is available not only for the
GSM terminals but also for any other VoIP endpoint in a
connection.

RTP media stream can be relayed
via the CS from one of the following
to any of the following endpoints:
IP Phones
SIP Phones
Aastra SIP Phones
AMC+
AMCC
SIP trunks
SIP networking
Relay of RTP data is done, if one or
both endpoints have the parameter
set to Yes.
A sufficient number of VoIP
channels and VoIP licences has to
be available.

It has to be taken into account that
the more switching components are
involved in a connection the more
jitter and delay have impact on the
voice stream.
In case of indirect switching both
VoIP channels must use a codec
supported by the CS. (High-Q / G.722
is not possible).
Aastra 430 supports 18 VoIP
channels. Therefore the maximum
number of indirectly switched IP-IP
connections is 9.

Firmware server for Aastra SIP
The firmware for the Aastra SIP terminals gets bigger and bigger.
For the 6735i and 6737i it is 18MB each and for the Aastra 8000i it
is already over 200MB. It is clearly impractical to store this on the
CS, especially as many customers do not have these phones.
The solution is to have an external storage for all Aastra SIP
firmware.

Firmware server for Aastra SIP
Firmware for Aastra 8000i and all Aastra 6700i terminals can be stored on
an external server.
In a first solution the server has to be configured manually.
It is planned for the future to have an Aastra wide HTTPS server. The
address of this server will be preconfigured in the PBX. This address will
be used if no manual configured address is present.

The configuration files
remain on the CS, as they are
generated from template files

The language packs also
remain there as they are
small and knowledge of their
existence is necessary for
the correct generation of the
config files.

Aastra - 2011 21.11.2011_AA008_en_a4_3805 Aastra 400 Release1.2
The P-preferred Identifier is used (beside
other methods) to validate if the source
of the call (in our case the Aastra CS) is
known by the provider and allowed to
make an outgoing call.
With older Aastra CS versions the PPI
header was always sent, and always the
user CLIP was entered.
Some providers do not want an PPI
header to be sent.
Some providers (where a block of
numbers is registered with one account)
need the PPI header containing the SIP
ID of the registered account.

The PBX supports external numbering plan definitions in order to
process outgoing calls via SIP trunks faster without any delay.
Without such definition a SIP trunk waits 4 seconds if no # is
included as last digit in the call number.

Includes emergency and special short numbers
Wildcards allowed (see next slides for the syntax)
No open numbers allowed
Critical information: wrong values could prevent some numbers
to be correctly dialed

External numbering plan
The ENP files of the different
countries are part of the SW
package of the CS software.
A update of the CS software
overwrites the existing ENP files
in the file system of the CS.
This means, if someone has
changed the file, the changes are
lost without any warning, when
an update takes place.
The ENP files are stored in the CS file system under /home/data/enp/
The file name is extnumplan followed by the country indicator (ISO 3166).
The country indicator is shown in capital. The file extension is txt.
An example for Switzerland would be extnumplanCH.txt

Aastra - 2011
SIP
21.11.2011_AA008_en_a4_3805 Aastra 400 Release1.2
When GSM makes trunk trunk which CLI is
sent?
Behavior untill today:
In case of a trunk trunk connection, a
GSM or PISN user sends always the number
of the external incoming user as calling
party number CS GSM / PISN
destination. It is independent of the setting
send redirection / redirecting information
in the trunkgroup.
This behavior causes problems in
conjunction with SIP trunk and GSM user
It is now configurable in the trunk group
with a new parameter: Send incoming CLIP
for trunk- trunk connections (Default: Yes)
CLIP for trunk-trunk connections
75
Aastra - 2011 21.11.2011_AA008_en_a4_3805 Aastra 400 Release1.2
When the parameter Send
incoming CLIP for trunk- trunk
connections is set to No and
this call comes via GSM
integration, then the CLI sent out
is the one of the authenticated
GSM user (DDI lookup or fix
CLIP).
If no CLIP is found, we send the
received called DDI out.
