Regional Transformation

Spatial development of the city which is believed to be uncontrollable trigger both biotic environmental issues, social, cultural, economic in the future. It will be more complicated if the development of an urban area began to come together and integrated with other urban areas. The spread of urbanity that leads to the outside of the main region has begun to affect the pattern of surrounding land use area. Yunus (2010) asserts that an increase in the proportion of the population living in urban areas is always followed by a physical spread of acreage urbanity that the expansion has a tendency mutually integrated. Characteristics physical urbanity is widespread, especially in suburban areas has been an indication that the process of urbanism occurring in urban areas more quickly to blend with the city core. The process of transformation of space and socio-economic areas occur outside the builtup area (major land) is strongly influenced by a variety of things. Transport is one of the dominant factors which led to rapid or slow the transformation. It is strongly associated with the flow velocity (flow) good people, goods, or ideas that connects the core (center) and surrounding areas (edges). Such interactions will form a kind of urban corridor marked by the blurring the nature and the growing nature countrified urbanity (Giyarsih, 2010). Symptoms of development of a region that is characterized by a change / transformation that is both physical and socio-economic, greatly influenced by the increase in population. Increasing population and its functional activity is always associated to the increased need for space. It needs serious attention, because it is possible to have the impact that can change the order and affect the surrounding environment. One interesting area with these developments is the suburbs. The area has become attractive because it has such great connections with aspects of urban and rural life are created simultaneously (Yunus, 2008). The development of suburban areas that are not controlled will be a problem in the future. The impact of development is not only going to stop at a particular zone (the suburbs) but will probably spread to rural areas far from the city center. This would be a problem, particularly related to the development and utilization of resources in the area, where the problem that then arises is based on several things, namely (1) the uneven population distribution, (2) uneven distribution facilities, (3) the limited development funds (Saputra, 2007). The linkage between these three problems which allow the occurrence of uneven spatial development. Indication of spatial development in an area such as is shown by the presence of population growth, increased investment, and the contribution of the non-agricultural, and rapid process of land conversion from agricultural to non-agricultural (Giyarsih, 2010). Suburban and

rural lots undergo significant changes as a result of the development of the city, by population growth and also increase the function of urbanity. Infrastructure development and the increased number of houses in the suburbs as a result of population movements and government policies (Kurniawan, A and Prakoso, BSE, 2008). Special areas that characterize the interaction of commodities and people will form because of the mixing of agricultural activities and nonagricultural (McGee, 1991 in Widyatmoko, 2007). Yunus (2008) also found that the process of becoming urban a countrified transformation properties inherent urbanity in a variety of dimensions, especially those that occur in suburban areas. Actualization of the transformation process in the form of changes are physical, sociocultural, and economic. Changes is then defined as the transformation zone.
