Formation of the F.S.A.

After the Rebellion, the major liberated states formed into a political and military alliance known as the F.S.A. Union of the Bretonian states into a distinguishable union. A bloodless border dispute that eventually saw Bretonian entry into the F.S.A.
The first war between the fledgling F.S.A. and the traditional enemies of its galaxy, the Vegarian Empire. Also known popularly as VWI. Not all battles are listed below.

Attack on Ephrate

The first event of the war. The Vegarian admiral, Sulfaz, led a massive attack armada through the wormhole known as Thurls Maw and Gamma bombed the Veritian planet of Ephrate into oblivion. OUTCOME: Vegarian complete victory. After the attack on Ephrate, Veritian, Orangi, and Confederate forces scrambled to defend the independent allied world of Haradi. Confederate defense measures drove off the Vegarian armada, and together with the Veritians and Orangi, they turned back Sulfaz. OUTCOME: F.S.A. victory.

Admiral Sulfaz, undeterred by his loss at Haradi, destroyed the defense of the F.S.A. allied world of Metropolis. Formerly the largest city-planet in the known galaxy, Sulfaz gamma bombed the world. OUTCOME: Vegarian complete victory. Following the bombing of Metropolis, the Vegarians defeated and Gamma bombed the allied F.S.A. world of Cal Murthak. OUTCOME: Vegarian complete victory. Sulfazs new Gamma bombing target was the two habitable planets in the Jumteel system. OUTCOME: Vegarian complete victory. Another of Sulfazs Gamma bombing targets. The Daskans, F.S.A. allies, had attempted to launch an attack fleet to slow the progress of the Vegarians to the important trade world of Salnat. Sulfaz not only crushed the fleet, but returned to Cal Daskus and razed the world by Gamma bombing. OUTCOME: Vegarian victory. An independent and highly important trade world on the outskirts of the F.S.A., Salnat was the center planet of the Balbringi Cluster. This was the last battle where a Gamma bomb was successfully deployed during the war. Salnat was able to hire mercenaries to stave off the Vegarians while an evacuation was attempted, but Sulfaz broke through and destroyed the planet. OUTCOME: Vegarian victory. the fate of the F.S.A. Sulfazs armada was halted at Orangi by the combined efforts of all F.S.A. states, though a last minute maneuver by Sulfaz robbed the F.S.A. of a secure victory. OUTCOME: F.S.A. victory. Battle of Barrakesh 6PR After the Battle of Orangi ended in the final months of 5PR, the Vegarians assaulted the Bretonian capital of Barrakesh. Sulfaz had been incapacitated, and the F.S.A. traitor General Varichi was defeated by the combined F.S.A. armada. OUTCOME: F.S.A. complete victory. Following the victory at Barrakesh, the Veritian High Warlord Tyraz and his allies (dubbed Royalists) reformed the government of Veritas Prime into an empire. Their opposition, the Traditionalists, declared war and were defeated by the Royalists. However, a group of Traditionalist planets declared independence and exist today free from Imperial authority. OUTCOME: Royalist victory, birth of the respective Imperial Veritian and Traditionalist Veritian states. Following his presumed death between the battles of Barrakesh and Orangi, Sulfaz reermeged as the new Emperor of the Vegarians. Since the Battle of Barrakesh, the Vegarians had been routed from the galaxy. The F.S.A. launched a series of raids on Vegarian territory, one of which was the invasion of Teutonia. OUTCOME: F.S.A. complete victory.

After the success of the raids on Vegarian home territory, the F.S.A. set itself to invade the Vegarian planet of Regala, a regional capital and trade center. OUTCOME: F.S.A. victory and peace treaty between the Vegarian Empire and the F.S.A. VWI ends. The planet of Regala is retained by the F.S.A., and becomes and independent member of the alliance. Teutonia is returned to the Vegarians, who also gain trade rights to Regala, and in return they remove their garrisons from all F.S.A. planets. Seven years after the Gamma bombing of Ephrate, an F.S.A. expedition is sent to investigate the damage done by a Gamma bomb. The expedition is slaughtered by mutated biohazards, and the planet is closed off by military ships. However, pirates funded by illicit sources attempt to capture biohazards from the planet (all dying in the attempt). The creatures promptly spread across many F.S.A. worlds. The alliance manages to contain the damage and restrict information on the attacks from the general public, and create the elite Savior Squad to lead mutant eradication efforts. As of 15Pr, the crisis appeared over. Bretonian border worlds report mysterious and otherworldly ships not responding to hails. A task force sent to investigate clashes with what is now known to be Dominion scouts, which disengage and leave F.S.A. space. By far the most destructive, devastating,

The war was begun as the Dominion War was nearing a close-Potentate Torren himself led the combined F.S.A. armada to eliminate what was thought to be the last Dominion fleet in F.S.A. territory. During the battle, the Vegarians (who had come forward with a proposal to ally against the Dominion) betrayed and killed the Potentate.
