I mentioned in my previous assignments that my idea is to open the school in Gujrat.

A school that will be very lavish and IA will be number one in education and extracurricular ideas. In this assignment I had to the research about the market. In this assignment now I am going to interpret all my research work to know exact scenario that wheatear my ides will be successful or failure. Research objective a. Current opportunities: Well current opportunities are that yet I could not find a school that having high technology facilities, their own transportation facility, good and experienced faculty and a very good school in everything. Even economic factor can be my opportunity as my motive is not profit I just want as many children can get education as many can. School are providing transportation facility but student have choice either use their facility or come on a car but I want that every student every staff has to come on the school transport so that no one get late and student will learn punctuality and even no student will be no complex among students about cars and others. Faculty will be my opportunity as I researched that most of the teachers do not know their subject they are not experienced so by hiring good experienced teacher I can upgrade the education standards. Well in future I can have opportunity to start exchange programs with other foreign high schools so the students who live in any other country and planning to come to Pakistan that wont find it so difficult to get admission and can adapt the environment easily. That will help in getting foreign aid more easily. b. Current threats: Well current threat is the people perception like they have about my competitors. I will be discussing my competitors above. Even new school cannot het famous and

reputation in the start it will create its good will with the passage of time and with the good qualities of my education and facilities that my school will be providing. Political issues can come. Like any policy can change. Economical issue can come that increase in tax rates. Well the future threat might be that the existing school starts to increase their standards. So from my above external analysis I decided that my research objective is the: To know about the thoughts, feelings and attitudes towards childs school and what facilities do parent want in their child school. Checklist# 1 researching the customer Well in this I did some primary research and some secondary research. Size of the total market: I will be opening my school in Gujrat city and I will be catering students directly and their parents indirectly because in Pakistan parents are one who take all the decisions regarding their child education. My main customer will be parents and consumer will be children. Currently there are 10 billon students in the Gujrat so the size of my total market will be 10 billion (lack) students. Individual customers: Well as this is a school so there is no limit for customers. My individual customers will be children and their parents that live in Gujrat. Customer segments: I will be dealing more than one customer segments. I will be dealing upper class as well as middle class.

How often do they buy and how much they buy? Normally parents change their child school rarely if parents are satisfy with their current school than they will not change or switch to any other school in fact they tell other people by word of mouth about the school and creates good will so IA I will try y level best to satisfy them and meet their expectations by providing their children better facilities and education. Do they buy randomly or at specific times? Parents dose not their child school randomly there is a specific time of doing it when a new sessions start. So the specific time to change to other school is in the new sessions. Some customers account for high percentage of purchase: I want that large amount of students should come from middle and lower class. Reason: The reason is I want these students also should get all the facilities and enjoy good quality of education so they can help their parents and try to change their parents financial position and become a good citizen. Market in year1, 2 and 3: In year 1 I will be expecting market of 25% in which 10% will be from lower class 7% will be from middle class and 8% will be from upper class. In year 2 I will be having 65% of the market in which 20% will be from lower class, 20% will be from middle class and 25% will be from upper class and in the 3rd year IA I will have the 95% of the market.

Currently they are only 4 schools that are my foremost competitors that have captured the whole market but I am confident that my school will leave behind all these 4 schools. Checklist #2 researching the competition Research: Well I did primary as well as secondary research do know about my competitors. In primary research I went many schools and conducted questionnaire and focused interviews and came to know that they are only 4 schools that are my main competitors. In my research I looked how many students are in each school, why people prefer these schools, how many students are in each class, what is the qualification of the teachers and what is their competitive edge and competitive advantage. In secondary research I viewed many articles and use different web sites for facts and figures. Competitors: As I mentioned above that they are 4 schools that will my major competitors. The names of those schools are: 1. Beacon house School System(BSS) 2. Pakistan International Public School (PIPS) 3. Fuji Foundation School (FFS) 4. Lahore Grammar School (LGS) Percentage of competitors they have in the market: Research: Well this figures I got from the magazine that name is Gujrat magazine. It is a weekly published magazine in which you can get the information about any thing that is happening in the city. According to this magazine:

a. Beacon House School System ranks in the first position and cater the 30% market of the total market and mainly it is targeting to upper class. b. In the second number 2 schools ranks are Fuji Foundation and Pakistan International they both cater the 25% of the market. These both school cater the upper middle class. c. In the third rank LGS come that covers the 15% of the total market. It is mainly targeting the upper and middle class. d. 5% of market is catered by other schools Estimated sales turnover: Research: Well their estimated sales turnover I got to know from secondary sources as nobody give their financial details but I came to know about their fee structure from the parents and even my visited these schools for me to know about their admission and fee procedure. a. Well BSS estimated sales turnover is around 10, 00,000 PKR annually and its fee for two month is Rs 6,000-8,000 and you have to submit the fee Chelan in the Faisal bank. b. FFS estimated turnover is around 5, 00,000 PKR annually and its fee is RS 3,00035, 00 per month. Fee Chelan is submitted to the clerk of the school. c. PIPS estimated turnover is 8, 00,000 PKR annually and its fee is RS 3,000-35, 00 per month. Fee Chelan is submitted to the clerk of the school. d. LGS estimated sales turnover is 4, 00,000 PKR annually and its fee for two month is Rs 6,000-8,000 and you have to submit the fee Chelan in the Silk bank. How long they are in the business? Research: This information I take from the school sites as well as from the staff of the school so I came to know about how long these 4 schools are in this market.

a. FFS is in this market from more than 20 years. b. BSS is in the market from more than 15 years, c. PIPS are in this market from more than 10 years. d. LGS is in this market from more than 5years. Is market stable or changing? Research: The market is not stable not because of new competitors entrants or leaving from the market. It is because of the technological and economical factors. Every school increases its fee after 6 months or annually because of inflation that is now days it is 7% and also after every week new software's are coming that are very expensive. Competitive edge of competitors: Research: The competitive edge of the company I came to know from their websites and their competitive advantage I came to know from interviewing different parents. The competitive edge of my competitors is: a. BSS competitive edge is b. Sd c. s d. s How profitable and efficient are they? Research: This information I came to know from secondary resource. All my 4 competitors are very efficient and enjoying good profits. In the market knows they have significant good will in the market and people have good perception about them but BSS is enjoying the more profits than the others.

Customers rate the competitors: Research type: This information I get from the primary research I distributed 50 questionnaires to parents that belongs to different social classes. Customers rate the principal competitors as follow: a. 80% of people perceived that BBS is not good in studies but it is the school for upper class. So people who are conscious about their status admit their children here. b. 95% people perceived that FFS is a very strict school. It put burden on the pupils and give them a lot of home works so they can not involve them self in any other activity. c. 65% of people perceived LGS have good quality of education and it is the only school that is offering American course but the school building is not proper and it is targeting small customer base. d. 50% people say that PIPS education is good but t the main reason of sending our child here that it is not co-education system so we feel secure. Are they active in the market place and in what ways? Research type: I got this piece of information from primary survey by doing the visit of local markets Yes all of these four schools are active in the market and providing their services to their customers. All are providing education and trying to become number one in the market. Checklist #3 Researching the environments Well the boundary of my target market will be Gujrat city. As it is a school so everybody can join the school.

Research: Well for the social political and economical and technological trends I mainly did the secondary research I read many past newspaper and review many published journals about the social trends. Social trends: Well the social trends that can affect my school are: a. Co-education system: Well 70% to parents want to send their children and school where school offer same gender education because they say that in this modern era we do not feel by sending our children in a co-education system especially our girls. b. Uniform: Most of the parents have issue with uniform. 80% of the parents say that there should not be uniform that does not tell about our traditions. 90% parents said even the female student said we feel more comfortable in shalwar and qameez rather than skults or froks, and for boys the dress should be dress paint, shirt and tie.

c. Ethics: Most of the people should that ethics should be practiced in the institutes so that students should know about their religion as much as they can. 65% parents said that there should be arrange of religious classes in the institute. Parents said that there should not be any pressure on minorities to study any other religious book there should be arrange of their religion classes as well. d. Norms and values:

Students must know what their norms are and value regarding their society their class etc. Political factors: Well political factors that can affect my institute are: a. Public events/ Government announced holidays: Most our Government announced on the death of their any relative that affect the efficiency of any organization. Even when government gave the holidays for a week due to terrorist attacks seriously affected the whole sessions and the schedules of the schools. b. Funds: When institutes needs some kind of leverages or funds from the government they simply refuse to help them. c. HEC: There is a change in the policies of HEC now and then which affect the pupils and schools as well as their results are concerns. Once the Punjab text book were changed just before the two months of board exams due which the pupils did not do well and got poor results. Technological factors: Now in this modern and fast moving era it is very difficult for an institute to grab all the new software's and high technology because it is very expensive and mostly schools reluctant to purchase every new software's because they know that within next week any other new technology will come. Economical factors: In economical factors there are many factors that can affect the performance of your school:

a. Inflation: As currently the rate of inflation is 7% approximately initially it was 15.5% so reduce in this rate allow some leverage to organizations. As I said it is NonProfit organization but still to run its operation I need money that I will get from those students which will be able to give their fee especially upper class so for them when the inflation rate will increase the fee will also increase. b. Tax rate: Might possible that tax rate increase on property or any other tax. Demographics: For my demographics and for external factors I did the primary research Well as this is school and I mentioned that every children can take part in this school because for me profit does not matter I just everybody who deserve best education can come to my school. So for this nothing gender. occupation and income doesn't matter. Everybody is welcome to come who is dedicated towards the study. External factors: I mentioned my external factors above their influence in the market can be negative it can reduce the operation of any institute but if we try to sort all the issues than for sure we will get the long term success.

Well these external factors will help me a lot because from this external audit I will be having the clear picture and it will help me in making my idea more innovative than from my competitors. 1. I already mentioned and I used both the research methods:

Primary research method: In which the data is first handed or collected by your own self. E.g. Questionnaires and interviews. I distributed 50 questionnaires among the parents. I choose 4 social classes for my surveys and interviews: Upper class Upper middle class Middle class Lower class Even I visited some schools and analyze to know about my principle competitors and to know what is their competitive edge, competitive advantage, how do they run their operations and about their administration management. Secondary research method: In which data is not first by hand it is conducted someone else and anybody can use it. E.g. Internet, libraries, news paper and published articles etc. Well I used internet and different websites to know about the social, political, economical and technological factors etc even I got to know the total size of my population from the internet. From news paper I took the estimated turnover sales of my competitors and other related information about them. Evaluating the opportunity Pessimistic: Year 1 Sales turnover 200,000 PKR Details Most of the people will hesitate to admit there in the new school. 2 2,00,000-50,000PKR The perception about the existing school will make it difficult for parents to switch their child

school. Customer loyalty 3 Below 50,000 PKR Might possible that political, social, economical and technological factors will become issue and will affect my sales directly.

Optimistic: Year 1 Sales turnover 10,00,000 PKR Details The concept of school having everything in one umbrella. 2 12,00,000-15,00,000PKR Change the perception of parents and by showing them excellent results from the first year results. 3 Above 15,00,000 PKR By satisfying pupils and their parents and by providing them up to date facilities. Most likely: Year 1 2 3 Sales turnover 4,00,000 PKR 6,00,000- 8,00,000 PKR Above 9,00,000 PKR

Questionnaires analysis:

Methodology

This research is carried out to improve my awareness about the techniques by which a research can be performed. This research is principally done for the research project which is necessary for academic course Research methods. Research Type

This research is basically conducted to absolute research thesis which is obliging for the research method course. This research is naturally a Basic research because it will manner to enhance my knowledge regarding the research method. The research kind is of both quantitative and qualitative nature. In quantitative I did the survey (questionnaire) where as in qualitative I conducted an interview. Data type & Research Period

For this research the data and information was gathered by two main sources primary and secondary. I gathered the secondary data from several books, published Articles and journals. Two sources survey method and interviews with the management of the organization which have some knowledge in the business or organization is used in primary data. I collected the primary data by conducting interviews with managers and other employees that are currently working in the Headquarter. The main idea of conducting interview was to know that what they think about training. I collected the primary data with the help of questionnaire survey. I made the questionnaire with the help of my literature review. My questionnaire is consisting of 25 questions. Time period for this research is cross-sectional research. Cross-sectional research is the study which is performed on the definite time or in other words we can describe it that the research

that cannot be done on the gaps like medical research. The time period allocated for the research is two months from 1st October, 2012 to 29th November, 2012. Sources of the data

All the articles which I selected for the literature reviews were from the J.STOR and from different journal sites. Information gathering & Sampling Procedure Survey Design Survey design as I mentioned it above that the primary data is collected through questionnaires. The questionnaire is filled by the staff of the MCB in different branches but main chunk of questionnaire is filled from its headquarter. 100 employees are taken into concern for these questionnaires. Population, Working Population & Planned Sample For the deliberation of my project I considered the target population of bank employees. The target population of my research includes different managers, Operational manager, CRM, and other administration of Bank. The respondents of this research are the current employees of MCB in several branches.

Sample Size Consideration

For this research I chose the sample size of four branches of MCB bank in Lahore will be selected for the questionnaire surveys. I distributed 20 questionnaires in three branches but distributed 40 questionnaire in headquarter. A sample of total 100 workers is taken for this survey. Questionnaires are carried out by the employees of Bank. Branches of Lahore are Tblock branch DHA Lahore; Phase 5 branch DHA Lahore, MCB liberty branch Lahore and Headquarter of MCB at jail road.

Choice of Sampling Techniques

There is no specific technique used for this sampling. We can say that for this research I have used a random sampling for this research. I went to the banks by myself for conducting the questionnaire survey. Interviews with the branch manager a selective technique of sampling Techniques

For this research, I used different statistical methods. The data is collected in this research by both primary and secondary sources as I discussed it above. After gathering the data from respondents with the assist of research questionnaire cross tabulation technique is used. The data then examined using the statistical methods to deduce the findings for the data collected

Data Analysis and interpretation I used the SPSS for the analysis of the data and interpretation of the data. SPSS is "software which can help us to run the linear regression and multiple regressions for our variables". The findings collected from the SPSS are signified by the use Microsoft excels for the graphs. This analysis helped me to interpret the data and arrive at a conclusion.
