Prime Minister A prime minister is the senior most minister of cabinet in the currently ruling party in a parliamentary system.

He is the presiding member and chairman of the cabinet. Prime minister is the actual head of the government and the executing head of a country. In India the party with the majority forms the government and selects a member from either a lok sabha or rajya sabha for the post of prime minster. In India, the Prime Ministerial candidate must be a member of parliament either Lok Sabha (Lower House) or Rajya Sabha (Upper House). The appointment of the prime minister is a royal privilege exercised by the governor-general of the country. here is the list of contenders for the post of pm 2014 Rahul Gandhi Rahul Gandhi has been recently appointed as the vice-president Indian National Congress and thus have shown that he is ready to take up big challenges. Rahul Gandhi a fourth-generation scion of the politically powerful NehruGandhi family, Rahul Gandhi is the son of Rajiv Gandhi (6th Prime Minister of India) and incumbent Congress president Sonia Gandhi. He entered into politics with a bang and within years was the favorite of all. He has fought for the rights of the farmers in Uttar Pradesh and has strengthened UPA base in U.P. Young India has faith in him and is the best leader for the congress, even Dr. Manmohan Singh louds him for the Prime Ministers Post and maybe we see him as the Prime Minister of India if Congress returns to power in 2014.

Dr. Manmohan Singh The 13th and current Prime Minister of the democratic India. A renowned economist, he carried out several structural reforms that liberalized Indias economy and enhanced Singh's reputation globally as a leading reform-minded economist during 1991 under the leadership of P.V Narasimha Rao. Under the leadership of Dr. Manmohan Singh UPA executed several key legislations and projects, including the Rural Health Mission, the Unique Identification project, the Rural Employment Guarantee scheme, the Right to Information Act and a historic Civil Nuclear Agreement with the United States. An experienced and respected among college may be one of the contender for the post of PM if congress returns to power in 2014.

Narendre Modi Narendra Damodar das Modi is the current chief minister of the Indian state of Gujarat. He is leading Gujarat for the consecutive 4th term and Gujarat has seen immense development under him. Though he is a controversial figure for he received heated criticism surrounding the 2002 Gujarat violence. However, he enjoys considerable support in his home state and is credited with the high economic growth in Gujarat under his government.

He is the only man in the country who is trending high on social sites and receiving hails from all over the country, be it a renowned business man or a young leader of republic India. There are sought and slogans from every part of India for his prime ministerial ship. If BJP comes to power in 2014 he may the peoples choice for the highest executing post in India.

Sushma swaraj Sushma Swaraj is presently Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha. She is a former Union Cabinet Minister of India and a former Chief Minister of Delhi. When she speaks in lok sabha she has all the ears around her giving full attention to her speech, she always has strong points in her favor and thats why she is the fittest the leader of opposition and may be a contender for the prime ministerial post if BJP comes to power in 2014. Arun Jaitley Arun Jaitley is the Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha and has previously held the portfolios as the Union cabinet Minister for Commerce and Industry, Law and Justice in the National Democratic Alliance government. He has always been there for BJP be it in Gujarat, madhaya Pradesh, bihar or be it Karnataka he has always lived up to expectation and is lined up in Queue for the post of Prime Minister if BJP comes to power in 2014.

Sharad Pawar Sharadchandra Govindrao Pawar is the president of the Nationalist Congress Party which he founded in 1999, after separating from the Indian National Congress. He has previously held the posts of Minister of Defence and Chief Minister of Maharashtra and currently serves as Minister of Agriculture, Government of India. Pawar also served as the Chairman of the Board of Control for Cricket in India from 2005 to 2008. In 2010, Sharad Pawar became the International Cricket Council president after England's David Morgan. There is a buzz within the congress about his election as the Prime Minister if congress returns to power in 2012 because he has his jaws down and threatened to quit party when he was not promoted in the cabinet, congress somehow managed to win over him but he may be a one of the contender for Prime ministerial post.

P. Chidambaram Chidambaram Palaniappan is an Indian politician with the Indian National Congress and the current Union Minister of Finance of the Republic of India. P. Chidambaram is a well-known corporate lawyer and an important member of the

last two Congress led Government's at the center. Previously he had served as Finance Minister of India and the Home Affairs Minister. He also stand a chance to be elected as the prime minister of India if congress resumes office in 2014.

Kapil Sibal Kapil Sibal is a lawyer and an Indian politician. He is currently the Minister of Communications and Information Technology. He also held the two positions of Minister of Science and Technology and Minister of Earth Sciences in the First Manmohan Singh Cabinet. He is one of the important minister of the ruling congress party and has done lot to show his wisdom and his capabilities for being elected as the prime minister of India.

Sharad Yadav Sharad Yadav a politician from the Janata Dal (United) a member of the Parliament of India representing the Madhepura constituency of Bihar in the Lok Sabha. Since there are disputes between BJP and JDU it may be that BJP wanting to strengthen their alliance put forward Sharad Yadavs name for the prime ministers post as he was given chance to stand for the president election, which he rejected.

Aam Adami Last but not the least, year 2012 has seen a great may new thing and new activist showing up from anna to Arvid kejrewal all has come up to protect their mother land and gave a severe blow to the ruling party. They started their journey as a social activist and ended up from a party Aam Adami. It may be that we see a new face for the post of the prime minister. And of course not to forget L.K.Advani's assertion that after the next elections there may be a non-BJP, non-Congress Prime Minister.
