    Alonzo1st Taxpayerfundedscholarshipsshouldgotothebestcandidate,regardlessofsexualorientation,gender identityorgenderexpression.Alonzosamendmentensuresthatdiscriminationofthattypeisprohibited,along withrace,sex,colorandethnicity. Alonzo2nd LGBTyoutharemorelikelytodealwithmentalhealthissuesandeconomicinstabilityduethepervasiveand systemicoppressiontheyface.AlonzosamendmentwouldcollectdataonselfidentifiedLGBTpersonsunder theageof24whoaccessmentalhealthcareprovidedtoindigentpersons. Coleman2nd&Burnam5th(identical) LGBTyouthfacedisproportionatelevelsofbullyingandharassmentinschool.TheBurnam/Coleman amendmentwouldcollectdataonthepersistenceofbiasmotivatedbullyingandharassmentinpublicschools. Davis,Sarah1st LGBTyouthareathigherriskforsuicide,duetothepervasiveandsystemicoppression.Davisamendment wouldprovideadditionalfundingforyouthsuicidepreventionefforts. Naishtat2nd LGBTyouthareathigherriskforsuicide,duetothepervasiveandsystemicoppression.Naishtatsamendment wouldprovideadditionalfundingforyouthsuicidepreventionefforts. Turner,Chris6th PlannedParenthoodconductsculturalcompetencytrainingforstafftoensurethatservicesprovidedtothe LGBTcommunityarerespectfulandappropriate.TexaseffortstoremovePlannedParenthoodfromthe WomensHealthProgramhaveresultedinthelossoffederalfunds.Turnersamendmentwouldprohibitthe WomensHealthProgramfrombeingruninawaythatresultsinthelossoffederalfunds,effectivelyre instatingPlannedParenthoodandensuringthatlowincomeLGBTpeoplehaveaculturallycompetentcare providerforreproductivehealthservices. Walle1st TheTexasAttorneyGeneralhasrepeatedlyusedtaxpayerresourcestofundthedefenseofantiLGBTlaws. WallesamendmentwouldrequireareportofstatefundsspentonlitigationbytheAttorneyGeneralsoffice highlightingthewasteinvolvedindefendingstatesanctionedbigotry.
