successful career management Assess and record their career development through planned curriculum frameworks Career practitioners are the vital link between schools, and the broader community, employment and education providers. Developments to bring education and industry closer, has impacted upon all sectors in the educational arena, and will require schools rethinking of the way in which career development duties are resourced.
Year 11 specific
1. Counsel all students re: post compulsory options and career planning 2. Keep students aware of developments in workforce, industry areas and tertiary opportunities in the area/state/country.

3. Liaise with local VET cluster regarding programs offered at the school, and work placements to be carried out by students as part of their VET programs 4. Continue ongoing consciousness raising re world of work issues such as occupational health and safety in the workforce, employment search issues, unions, etc. 5. Participate in running local careers expo/school information nights 6. Encourage student attendance at expos. 7. If in government school, participate /manage Managed Individual Pathways Program.
Year 12 specific
1. All points as above 2. VTAC and other study options manage information rollout, counselling for selection of courses, and briefing re how tertiary institutions select students, and school information management of student choices, and provide a counselling service at Change of Preference time, for VTAC applications and Special Entry and Access Schemes SEAS 3. Participate in local Tertiary Information Service activity (pre-event preparation, taking to event, postevent debriefing) 4. Help students network, via local Jobs Pathways programs, and other services, to access local employment opportunities 5. Develop students skills in resume and cover letter writing and interview skills. 6. Coordinate and maintain the Destination Survey on exiting students, at this and lower levels. 7. If in government school, participate in /manage Managed Individual Pathways Program.
