Ypsilanti has appointed Max Anthouard as fire chief, effective April 1. Anthouard had been serving as interim fire chief since January 1, following the retirement of former Chief John Ichesco. Anthouard's appointment to fire chief comes months after the Ypsilanti Fire Department suffered a staff reduction

of five firefighters on shift to four. The Department continues to face challenges as the city sees continual budget shortfalls. "Right now I have a goal of maintaining the current staffing level," said Anthouard. "There are a lot of different happenings in the department right now." tody. Officers were dispatched at about 9:39 p.m. Sunday to the 900 block of Railroad Street to investigate a report of a possible fight or disorderly incident, according to the Ypsilanti Police Department. The two suspects, a 20-year-old Farmington Hills man and a 20-year-old Ypsilanti woman, were arrested by police. Police say they were acquaintances with the victim.
