Dear Red, Perhaps it's not very appropriate for the moderator to offer a personal response, but I couldn't let the opportunity pass to thank Domingo Garcia for everything he does for the community. Domingo has emerged as a major unifying figure for this region. We recently counted more than 10 Hispanic Chambers in the North Texas region, and 2 that purported to function as 'unity' groups, but we're still waiting for the announcements and invitations that reach out and connect all of us. Mucho ruido, pero pocas nueces. Several of those opened with fanfare but seem to have folded shortly after their first meeting. And about 7 years ago we were told that there were 34 (or 43?) different Lulac councils in North Texas, and we were hopeful that the groups could work together and help us address some of our community issues. But nobody - not even the regional director - was ever able to provide contact information for even five of those. Last year we called all the Lulac groups in our database and found that most were inactive. But Domingo's Chorizo Breakfast is open to all, month after month, and.... it's FREE as well! A great networking opportunity for all of us, regardless of our particular political party or individual interest It's a wonderful way to meet other Latino figures and to hear news in the areas of politics, community, immigration, arts, and organizing. Domingo not only pays for the breakfasts or finds sponsorships, but six months ago he began a second series of monthly breakfasts, in Fort Worth! He also sponsors local Latino community activities, including educational programs, cultural programs and ESL citizenship classes. We're very grateful for his leadership and appreciate his dedication to the community. Sincerely,

Anne Marie Your Red moderator..... __._,_.___
