Announcement!
Notification of Student Absences using Mobile Phone Text Messages
From 20 April 2009, parents/guardians or caregivers will be informed by mobile phone message – Short
Message Service (SMS) each time their child is away from school and school has no explanation for the
absence. An SMS text message will be automatically sent to the mobile phones of parents explaining that
our records show that your child is absent from school.
At Reece High School student attendance and student safety is a high priority.
We know that students who attend regularly are more likely to be successful and safe at school.
To improve our attendance and safety procedures, we will be informing parents/caregivers about any
unexcused absences for their child.
The school expects parents/caregivers to contact the school in advance if they know their child is to
be absent or late.
Department of Education
Tennis could be YOUR sport!
There are a variety of rosters and coaching available at the Devonport Tennis Club with qualified coaches.
Modified rules are used for those learning to play, plus coaching is available for all levels if you want to
improve your game. Tennis rosters cater for all levels of players, from the serious to the fun loving. For
more information contact Daniel Wickham on 0418-586-924, or Jim Haslam on 6424-3084.
NEWSLETTER/BULLETIN
Newsletters are distributed to students on Fridays throughout the school year. The newsletter is always
available on our website shortly after.
We would like to offer parents the opportunity to have to newsletter emailed to them thus ensuring that it
