2009 Unfilled Vacancies of Assistant Professors vide Adv.No.1/2006 INFORMATION BROCHURE Applications in the prescribed form, together with a Registration Fee of Rs.200/payable through Demand Draft only drawn in favour of the Registrar, Osmania University, Hyderabad-500 007 , payable at Hyderabad, are invited for the post of Assistant Professors (unfilled vacancies of Advertisement No.1/2006) in the Pay Scale of Rs.8000-275-13500 in the University Service including District P.G.Colleges, so as to reach the undersigned in person or by post by 5:00 p.m. on or before 31.03.2009 I. SC/ST (BACKLOGS)

The candidates who have applied in response to the Adv.No.1/2006 need not apply again.

NOTE:I i) The posts advertised include those at P.G.Centres and the University reserves the right to post the selected candidates at any of the colleges/P.G.centres located in districts and are transferable within the jurisdiction of the University. The posts advertised also include those of Research Centre of the University and the University reserves the right to post the selected candidates to the Departments related to the Centre and vice- vice-versa.

Age:

The relaxation of age limit is extended to all the qualified candidates in addition to the in-service people for appointment of Assistant Professor in the University service. Hence, there is no upper age limit for all eligible candidates.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR SC/ST (BACKLOGS): Assistant Professor for all Faculties under Group-I & II i) Good academic record with at least 55% marks or an equivalent Grade of B in the 7 point Scale with letter grades O & A to F at Masters Degree level from an Indian University or an equivalent Degree from a foreign University. The Govt. of A.P. have vide its G.O.Ms.NO.18, Higher Education (UE-I), dated 27.02.2004 granted relaxation from possessing of NET/SLET qualification for the recruitment of Assistant Professors reserved for the SC/ST backlog vacancies in the Universities whenever notified subject to the condition that the candidates should give an undertaking stating that they would pass the NET/SLET examination within two years from the dated of their recruitment failing which they would not be eligible for release of increments and promotion under career advancement scheme.

Assistant Professor for Faculty of Engineering under Group-III First Class Bachelors Degree in the appropriate branch of Engineering OR First Class Masters Degree in the appropriate branch of Engineering QUALIFICATIONS OTHER THAN SC/ST: Assistant Professor for all Faculties under Group-I & II i) Good academic record with at least 55% marks or an equivalent Grade of B in the 7 point Scale with letter grades O & A to F at Masters Degree level from an Indian University or an equivalent Degree from a foreign University. Candidates, besides fulfilling the above qualification, should have the Eligibility Test for Lecturers conducted by UGC/CSIR or accredited by the UGC. cleared similar test

NET shall remain the compulsory requirement for appointment as Lecturer for those with P.G.Degree. However, the candidates having Ph.D. degree in the concerned subject are exempted from NET for P.G.Level and U.G.Level teaching. Assistant Professor for Faculty of Engineering under Group-III First Class Bachelors Degree in the appropriate branch of Engineering OR First Class Masters Degree in the appropriate branch of Engineering NOTE-II:i) A relaxation of the minimum marks at the PG level from 55% to 50% marks is applicable to 4.12.1995. ii) iii) A relaxation of 5% i.e. from 55% to 50% of marks at the Masters level for the SC/ST category shall be given as per G.O.Ms.No.208, dated 29.6.1999. The candidates belonging to BC, SC and ST categories shall apply duly enclosing the Caste Certificate issued by the Competent Authority (Mandal Revenue Officer/Tahsildar). iv) The University reserves the right to itself in filling up the vacancies depending upon the exigencies of Teaching work. The University reserves the right to reject any application without assigning any reason. Filling of vacancies depends on the exigencies of Teaching work. Candidates already in service must submit their applications through proper channel. They may, however, send an advance copy but, if called for interview, they must produce a No Objection Certificate from their employer. Candidates will have to present themselves for an interview at their own expenses. Candidates should bring all Certificates in Original for the interview. Incomplete applications are liable to be REJECTED. 3

Applications can also be downloaded from the University Website www.osmania.ac.in and the filled in forms are accepted with a registration fee of Rs.250/- payable through Demand Draft only, drawn in favour of the Registrar, Osmania University, Hyderabad 500 007, A.P., payable at Hyderabad.
