As part of the graduation requirements, each undergraduate who pursuing Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Hons.) in Mechatronics (Automotive) in UniKL Malaysian Spanish Institute (MSI) is compulsory to undergo industrial training programme for a duration of 16 weeks. This training period will give them an opportunity to relate the theoretical learned in the classes before and the real applications in the real working environment. Besides that, this internship program will help them to enhance their interpersonal skills and prepare themselves to face the real industrial commitments.

Internship bridges the gap between the academic environment in the university and the future work environment. Exposing students in the working environment will boost their confidence and eligibility when seeking future employment. Specific industrial training objectives include: To enhance the level of confidence and qualification of students for future non-internship job. To expose the student to the new environment and allow them to develop the professional chracteristics, personality and behavior respectively. To provide opportunities to students to actively participate in their own learning outside of Malaysia and to exchange their experience with other students at the host university. To facilitate flow of ideas between academic institutions, which is between UniKL and the host university. To to broaden their academic and cultural experiences.

In University of Trento, I was assigned to master courses in Mechatronics. There are three master courses that we need to attend which were Design of Production Systems, Introduction to Electronic Systems and Electromagnetic Compatibility. I also took a basic Italian Language course. Our progression in Trento was supervised by Claudia Tarzariol, the staff for International Activities of University of Trento. I also established a good relationship with the co-ordinator of International Student Exchange Mobility (ISEM) Programme from UniKL International Office (UIO), Puan Hazwani Mohammed Noor in Kuala Lumpur. I reported and communicated with her regarding any issues and condition I had throughout the internship period. For academic purposes, I always referred to the Deputy Dean (Academic & Technology) of UniKL MSI, Eng. Mohd Nizam Bin Ahmad.

Besides attended the theoretical classes, I also did a workshop visit to Pergine Valsugana. During the visit, we are exposed to a national project by the university to develop a multifunctional CNC machine. That was an unforgettable experience and I gained a lot of new knowledge from the visit.

I also have the chance to attend the Random Hack of Kindness (RHoK) Programme during my internship period in University of Trento. It was a is a joint initiative between Microsoft, Google,Yahoo!,NASA and the World Bank. The objective of this programme was to bring together subject matter experts around disaster management and crisis response with volunteer software developers and designers in order to create solutions that have an impact in the field.
