Irregular menstruation, dysmenorrhoea, uterine bleeding, infertility. Seminal emission, seminal emission with dreams, red and white leucorrhoea, difficult defecation and urination, prolapse of the rectum, dark urine, white turbidity, shan disorder, warm malaria.
COMMENTARY

Extra Points

Baihuanshu BL-30 is primarily used as a local point to activate the circulation of qi and treat pain of the lumbar region and sacrum, pain of the lumbar region and hip, and especially pain of the coccyx. In common with many points located on the sacrum (see Ciliao BL-32) Baihuanshu BL-30 is also able to regulate the function of the uterus and genito-urinary system. It is specifically indicated for stopping leakage in the form of seminal emission and nocturnal emission, leucorrhoea and white turbid urine.
COMBINATIONS

1.5 cun

Back pain extending to the lumbar region: Baihuanshu BL-30 and Weizhong BL-40 (One Hundred Symptoms). Lumbar pain due to Kidney deficiency: Baihuanshu BL-30, Shenshu BL-23, Weizhong BL-40 and Taixi KID-3 (Great Compendium). Red and white leucorrhoea: Baihuanshu BL-30, Daimai GB-26, Guanyuan REN-4, Qihai REN-6, Sanyinjiao SP-6 and Jianshi P-5 (Great Compendium).

LOCATION NOTE

i. As the inner line of the Bladder channel on the back descends towards the sacrum, it runs closer to the midline; the 1.5 cun measurement in this area, therefore, will be relatively shorter; ii. For guidance on locating the sacral foramen see How to Locate the Sacral Foramina.
NEEDLING

Perpendicular insertion 0.5 to 1 cun. Note: some classical sources forbid moxibustion at this point.
